What did the board think of Rossi when he was here? I wasn't around then. Re: Altidore, I think he's lost it. I really had high hopes for him but instead of sticking around and playing week-in/week-out for a lesser team he's gone to sit on the bench at Villareal. His touch has almost all but disappeared and I'd love for him to get a transfer somewhere else just to be playing all of the time.

Does Landon have lipstick on in that picture?

Would love for us to take a look at Bradley (player not coach).

I saw a piece on a station here in the States about goal-line technology and there is a company in Japan (go figure!) that has created a technology that I think could be really useful. There are small (very very small) chips all around the ball and when all of the chips cross the goal line completely, it makes the ref's watch vibrate letting him know that the ball crossed the line. There are no crazy fireworks or lights or anything, it's small and subtle and does not distract from the game. Only the refs will know if it crossed the line completely so there can be no debate from either team. I think it is these kinds of small and unobtrusive technologies that we need to look into implementing into the game. They don't stop the play or flow of the game and they make sure the game is called correctly.

What bar? I saw him downtown at BBQ Bar last week.

Keeper almost had it, a little heart breaking for Egypt.

At least they already know a little bit about running a football club. And we'd at least get some US pre-season tours.
-
I don't rate him on a Premier League level but for the CCC, we could probably do worse.
-
Would love for us to go into the next season with Martins, Xisco, and Rangerd. We could do some real damage.

I like the new Celtic one quite a bit, it's got a uniqueness to it that's refreshing.
-
lol where do they get this stuff?

It's a sad day in Newcastle's history when we're trying to justify Shepard possibly coming back. Ugh.

Any quotes from Llambias or Ashley are bollocks anyway. Potential investors are not supposed to talk to either of them, only the people selling the club (Seymour Price et al).

Defoe is very clinical.

Not football players, but NBA players: ran into both Steve Nash (Phoenix Suns) and Jameer Nelson (Orlando Magic) tonight downtown.

Really jealous of stuff like this. I wish I lived in a country that understood football better.

That's a class kit.

which bar in Orlando out of interest? You should have glassed him It's a place called BBQ Bar, it's downtown. Just looked up the term glassed and yeah, I was walking over there with the intention of sharing a few kind words with the douche who had a bleached faux-hawk. Color me surprised when it's Alan fucking Smith in Orlando, Florida of all places. He went there a few weeks before we signed him too, Rich off here saw him. Maybe he's got some friends here or something. I can't hardly think of any other reason to come to Orlando when you've got shitloads of money and could potentially go anywhere you want.

Who cares what Martins has done in the Prem? We're playing in the Championship now and Martins will tear teams apart down (t)here. If he takes a wage cut I would have no problem with him staying in the squad, he would be the best striker in the Championship by a country mile.

Wish I could be there dudes, this would be tons of fun.

Not too concerned. Like other's have said, it will be good to see some of our youngin's get a chance in the first team and it will be good to see us win a few matches. I don't expect us to shoot back up but it will be a good season none-the-less.

Met my first professional football player ever tonight in the form of (unfortunately) Alan Smith. He was in my local haunt here in Orlando. Seemed kind of peeved I recognized him, especially because I interrupted him hitting on my lady friend and he also probably came here to lay low. He was with a few more dudes with British accents but I didn't really recognize any of them, although I didn't get a good look either.
