Haven’t had a shot on target yet. Christ.
-
Handed the route to the final and Southgate fumbles it, as expected.
-
fuck me, man. Hate Southgate.
-
It’s astonishing how far the PL will go to destroy their own product just to appease the anointed ones. The whole thing stinks.

I think most sensible people know why this deal has come about. If anything we’re highlighting the absurdity of PSR rules that we’re having to pay actual money for a player of his ability as a makeweight to ensure we’re within the limits. I’m sure we’ll start seeing us going for our real targets after this stupid PSR deadline expires.
-
Nah, we see the bigger picture; PSR workarounds and all that jazz, but the fact is he’ll be a Newcastle player and we’re allowed to comment on his ability (or lack thereof ).
-
They’re so sick of him, man .
-
He doesn’t even do that either . Stuck to his line and can’t even save shots straight at him. At least he’s good with his feet right? Nope, horrible at that too.
-
Mate, it’s a toss-up whether he’s better than Gillespie. He’s nowhere near Trafford and shouldn’t even be our third choice goalkeeper in an ideal world. I sound like a broken record here but he’s genuinely an awful goalkeeper. Like truly, truly bad. Benfica would essentially go into a game expecting to be behind the first time a shot came to goal.
-
We’re not paying that for OV, surely? We’d be getting robbed blind for a quarter of that price. PSR or not, there’s favourable rates and then there’s just pure stupidity.
-
If I was a betting man I’d wager the price will be the 7m Forest need for the first installment of the Anderson fee (assuming it’s a 5 year deal).
-
He’s terrible, man . Genuinely can’t think of a worse keeper ever to have worn a Benfica shirt. Obviously a little bit of PSR shithousery going on here.
-
Ugh. I’m usually quite upbeat about transfers but this lad is pony (was shocking for Benfica). Looks like a favourable deal as a thank you for overpaying on Anderson.
-
Yikes, if true. Looked really bad for Benfica and is Forest’s 3rd choice goalie. Looks like they’re paying us more on Anderson just to get rid of this guy.
-
The previous page. Hope and Downie reporting it; one saying a player coming the other way the other saying just a straight deal.
-
I’d happily take both and close up shop for the window.
-
I’m confused. 35m for Anderson? That can’t be true .
-
Bad day at the office but he’s genuinely one of the hottest cb prospects in world football. Would be quite the statement signing imo.
-
Depends what you mean by value for money though I suppose. I’d argue there’s more value in paying a little bit extra for a player you know can settle in the country and do well in the most difficult league in world football. While I agree there’s potentially great players we’re missing out on by not shopping abroad more often, we can’t afford to take too many risks when the odds are stacked against us via FFP. The players we bought outside of the PL weren’t unknown punts; they were either established internationals or had played in the Champion’s League (and none were particularly cheap either btw) mitigating that risk a lot. I like what we’ve been doing so far, given the constraints.
-
Yeah, PSR rules mean we’re having to box clever in the market and buying the dip as opposed to paying hype-inflated prices. It’s also cool to see that we’re focusing on buying players based on profile and attributes (as to how well they can work with our playing style) instead of form. The game is rigged at the top so we can’t do what the other top teams can; we have a clear strategy and I’m here for it.
-
Thiaw was really good the season before but he’s looked very shaky since his return from injury. Great timing to try and get him when his stock is so low; still young and has all the attributes to grow into a quality PL centre-back imo.
-
Saudi clubs won’t give us enough money for both players I reckon. PIF are seriously scaling back a lot of projects now.
-
Do people really want Rayan Cherki? He’s got great technical ability but Christ, physically, he’s the laziest most unfit player I’ve ever seen play at the top level; just disdainfully strolls about the field moaning and snarling. His agent is also Mbappe’s mum who, by all accounts, is an absolute nightmare too.
-
Nah just a situation earlier in the match that a switched on presser of the ball like AG could have made something out if.
-
Gordon presses and gets that off the defender.
