I don't have time right now to go through it in detail, but I'm very confident that his revenue estimates are considerably low and his cost estimates are high. Our revenue, including player sales that happened last summer, is going to be at least £330m.

He accounts for those earlier in the analysis, though he estimates our academy investment in the lowest of three tiers (no idea if it's remotely accurate, but it's another lever we have).

Just read through it. It’s disappointing analysis tbh. He thinks we need to make about £44m in sales to balance the books, but I think he’s way off on our revenue gains. He’s missing about £6m the club has already said can be tied to the CL. I think he’s also missing at least a couple million in match day gains. His commercial gains only include Sela and the Amazon doc, but leave out other new partners, the preseason, Australia, and Saudi/England friendlies. He also added £20m in wages and other costs and I’m not sure about that (this does not include amortization increases). There’s no way we’re sitting here needing to sell Bruno or Isak, which is his conclusion.

It always amuses me the attitude some American Arsenal supporters have. Like they are some superior being for rejecting the allure of Man United, Chelsea (then) or City (now) in favor of the sophisticated underdogs.

I was thinking similar this morning. Could absolutely see us filing a personal lawsuit against him if either Man United pull out or they somehow weasel him away for just a few million. Breach of contract, damages for sharing confidential information, etc. etc.

A cheaper / riskier option like Madueke is also a bit easier to take (and maybe an easier decision to make) if we think Minteh also has the potential and is getting close.

Not even entertaining the thought of Olise -- we are going to get blown out of the water on wages. It would take an all-time good sales job combined with a player who is genuinely ok leaving a lot of money on the table.

If Madueke's published wages (~£50k) are remotely accurate then it could definitely be attractive.

What's also interesting there is no mention of Tosin.

The thing I'm starting to understand less and less is why the 6 (and particularly 4 of them) aren't interested in blowing up all of the current rules in favor of a generous cap on wages + amortisation (let's say £4-500m). They'd still have a massive advantage over most, it would slow down City, they'd have UEFA's rules as a backstop to help hold back the likes of us, and, critically for them, it would allow profits to be claimed while slowing down the never-ending spending race. It may put them at a disadvantage to a handful of European clubs, but I don't get the impression that most of these owners care more about beating the likes of Madrid than they do about putting money back in their pockets.

Too many good points in that to even try to quote them all. And, funnily enough, his proposal at the end (a £400m cap) is exactly what I think the right solution and amount is.

But he’s nowhere near good enough to get the most out of his squad. Excellent news.

Forget the specific players for a moment and you can see the potential appeal of a deal like this as it seems ripe for accounting shenanigans. There are a number of ways you could structure this, but I'm not sure what will be enforced.

If not the Super League then I could imagine a renewed effort from the highest earning clubs to get more of the broadcast revenue, which could be more of a percentage based on merit in the way it's done today or by trimming the PL to 18 clubs. And, whether the PL has 18 or 20 clubs, I could see the number of relegation places getting reduced to two (or even one). And there will be another push to expand the CL again.

I think this is a very tough call to be honest that comes down entirely to our evaluation of him. Selling him is PSR gold, but so is keeping him if he’s good enough to play. The fact both his fee and wages are so low needs to be part of the equation. The problem is we almost certainly can’t confidently go into a season with Minteh and Murphy as our RW options. Selling him may be the right move and is certainly the easiest choice if £40m is accurate, but a wholesale change at RW where we bring in a starter + Minteh while selling Miggy and Murphy is also pretty compelling.
