  1. We are mentioned 15 times in the full decision. The speed at which things went into motion following the takeover is pretty incredible.
  2. The result is definitely a bit blurry. Both sides seem to be overstating their case in terms of the extent to which they won. FMV rules will still be in place, so that is definitely notable. But the shareholder stuff, where the burden of proof lies, and the ability to respond to the PLs ruling all seem significant.
  3. It's definitely not good news for the clubs with interest free shareholder loans (Everton, Brighton, Arsenal, Chelsea top of the list). The next question will be if those owners are willing to write off the loans.
  4. The Premier League's statement will be "Due to the ruling by the tribunal, Everton Football Club have breached PSR for three straight years and will be deducted 20 points."
  5. I mean, the rules now are also terrible for football unless you want the status quo maintained as much as possible. If the pendulum swings all the way the other way and football is just a competition between the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Real Madrid then that isn't fun either. But I'd be surprised if we're heading there. More than anything this ruling provides pushback against a movement that was only heading in one direction and locking in the elite's incumbent advantage. It gives some hope that the rules can swing back a little the other way and provide some measure of balance. And yes, we stand to benefit.
  6. It’s not as straightforward as being in London, but it’s not as if there aren’t options. And money talks. Honestly the biggest hurdle IMO for Sunderland or Boro is the fact this would need to be planned in advance and they could be in the PL. And I think it’d be more of a non-starter in that case.
  7. Cue 17 pages on why this can’t happen as we’d have nowhere to play.
  8. ~January we release 2023/24 accounts that will show how close we came to running foul of PSR, how much progress we've made on commercial revenue, but also making clear how far behind we are from the top 6 on match day / commercials. The next month is spent drip feeding various narratives about the reality of our financial situation and how the club's best asset is its supporters, many of whom are unable to buy tickets. ~ February/March we release an announcement that despite working with the best architects, the city, etc. etc. that there's no way to add more than 8-10k seats to SJP and at a blistering price tag, while explaining how this is not sufficient to compete in modern football. A nearby site has been secured that will support ~20k more seats and more details will be released soon ~April/May - Announce a location with initial concept renderings of a 70-75k seat stadium, plans for the existing site, and details on the women's team. We may and probably should do steps 2 and 3 at the same time. * This is assuming that a refurbish/rebuild on the existing site can't get to 70k+. If it can I still think we do that. ** I obviously have no real information; this is my guess.
  9. I know this fixture has been a nightmare but my brain is really good at only remembering Isak/4-1 and HBA's introductory goal.
  10. Capping the stadium at ~60k seems like it would keep a lot of supporters out (including young ones), limit the club's revenue, and put pressure on ticket prices. I'm very interested to know what the study says the capacity of a new stadium should be as that difference would tell us what we'd be giving up to stay.
  11. Interesting that it says if we decide to stay and expand that work would have to start next summer to be ready for the Euros. I wonder if that's just a guess or based on info. as I would have thought the timeline would be further out than that.
  12. I understand your point, but it's not about this one cup match vs. one PL match. Everyone could play both if necessary. It's about managing the whole season, resting our most used/important players when possible, getting minutes for lesser used players, etc. We have to rotate and there may not be a more obvious option for rotation all season.
  13. The two of them have played an incredible amount of football in the last 15 months with very little break and both expend an incredible amount of energy when they play. They, and particularly Bruno, cannot play every game. If we can't confidently rest a couple players against a L2 side at home then I don't really know what to say.
  14. This is it. It’s not NUFC supporters or football fans. People struggle doing anything outside of their home without documenting it.
  15. From Opta: This 1-1 draw ended a run of 14 consecutive Premier League games in which Manchester City had scored multiple goals; that was the joint-second longest such run in the competition’s history (Liverpool 15 between March and September 2019).
  16. Is that league only? From memory the only losses at home since February 1, 2022 are: Liverpool x3 Arsenal City Milan (chasing a goal) Dortmund The Chris Wood Boxing Day Massacre

    Lewis Hall

I was terrified of him in the team today because I’m not sure he’s ever played a game at LB without at least one or two disastrous moments where he’s caught out. He was outstanding today and I love that we had him on corners. There will likely be more growing pains, but I’m a lot more confident now that he’s going to adapt and learn faster.
  18. It’s fair to say we caught a break with who they were missing. But we were missing our starting striker (who might be our single best player), our backup striker, and a starting CB, so I’m certainly not going to use that to diminish our performance or the result.
  19. He just told us that’s not the case.
  20. Would have signed up for all of the first half stats minus their goal. Frustrating.
