All Pardew had to do was get out of the way of the player and nothing would have happened and we would be celebrating a good performance and 3 points instead of the clubs name being dragged through the mud again. Me too. Only time I've ever been worried about my safety at a match. It was so packed I spent the whole game watching over my left shoulder cos I couldn't turn to face the pitch. I also used to smoke like a chimney at the match, but at this one I couldn't get my tabs out of my pocket due to the crush. How there wasn't fatalities, I'll never know.

They're ridiculously overconfident, even for them. One of my makem workmates said he wasn't going to the derby because he was "sick of seeing us beat you lately" The last time they were this arrogant going into a derby we dicked them 5-1, so hope thats an omen.

Against Man U I was booked to return on the last bus home which was just after 11pm, I felt so bad that I got the first bus back and couldn't wait to get out of London, it was s****. Guess thats just you. My dad had been a few times and apart from the football had a great weekend away with his mates. Exactly! That's what you do. The only shit Wembley experience I've had was at the Charity Shield, where we went there and back by coach in a day - dreadful. Stay for the weekend, drink and have a laugh with the opposition supporters, that's what it's all about, I'm actually quite envious of the makems now.

Dunno. My recollections are that, although the "enemy", they were generally a decent bunch who endured their plight with a resigned kind of humour and grudgingly accepted that they were of no real interest to anyone outside the NE. I think when their attendances doubled/trebled overnight, after the SoL was developed, those old timers were overwhelmed by a new generation of idiots who seem to have a huge chip on their shoulders about life in general and Newcastle in particular and many of the old timers just gave up on them. This x1000.

This. All of our recent defeats against the makems have been in seasons where they've had the edge on us. Off the top of my head you've got to go back to the 1990 playoff debacle for the "form goes out of the window" statement to ring true.
