  1. Poor day for Baines, at fault for both goals.
  2. Krul Simpson Taylor Colo Santon Ben Arfa Cabaye Tiote Jonas Ba Best
  3. Not really wanting to defend it too much, but at Wolves when they're on the front foot there is an argument for preferring lads with experience in the English league. It certainly wasn't a game at that point to bring on HBA. Yup. Bringing on Ben Arfa and Marveaux was not going to make us keep the ball straight away, Wolves were going to be pushing us hard and looking for a goal. It's a matter of thinking positive. There were three or four occasions in the last quarter where we had the ball in the final third, with plenty of time and space. Situations made for Ben Arfa. I can understand not wanting to bring on a lightweight but skilful player if you're closing the opposition down effectively and looking secure. But they were just knocking it around and had plenty of time to put crosses in. It's a miracle that only one went in. Well, Krul played a part as well. That's the best I've seen him play. Language? Too lightweight? All irrelevant, when you are 2-0 up you go for the killer third. If you choose to protect and play on the counter you bring on an extra man in midfield.
  4. Krul 9 - Unbelievable Simpson 6 - Decent S.Taylor 7- Solid enough, didn't think the so called 'stonewall' penalty was a pen tbh. Coloccini 8 - Coped well with the onslaught in 2nd half. R.Taylor 5 - Struggled, sorry but its time for Santon. Obertan 4 - Awful Cabaye 7.5 - Assured and committed in midfield, great corner for the opener. Tiote 6.5 - Battled well. Jonas 7 - Absolutely cracking goal, not really allowed to get forward in the 2nd half as was constantly having to defend. Ba 7 - Well taken goal, should have had more. Best 7 - Does wonderfully well at holding up the ball and creating space for other players to run in. Has a decent cross on him as well. Lovenkrands 0 - Why why why fucking Delilah why? Guthrie - Could see the sense in it, until I realised it was Cabaye coming off.
  5. What an utterly terrible 2nd half performance. Was screaming at my laptop in anger, all down to Pardew, pathetic substitutions and tried to play on the break when we should have been going for the killer 3rd goal. All that quality on the bench and he brings on Guthrie and Lovenkrands ffs. Only thing I can think of is that he wants to save the likes of Ben Arfa and Marveaux for Spurs.
  6. Only made one change, Ben Arfa for Johnson and probably won't put HBA in the starting XI for a while yet. Loving how this is going at the moment, 33rd place
  7. October/November is the test, we have 3 games that we only managed to get draws out of last season, and 1 where we got battered. Then we have a month where we play Man United and City as well as Everton. If at the end of November our only defeats have been against the two Manchester clubs then I'll start getting properly excited. Realistically if we get 10-15 points from the next months we'll be doing alright.
  8. Nobody is putting them on the same pedestal as Barcelona or anything daft like that. Granted they were shite last night, but when they're playing well I think they're better to watch than Chelsea.
  9. Well they're better to watch than Chelsea, the 5-1 against Spurs was pretty good to watch like.
  10. Very meh towards Chelsea, effective side but not great to watch like United and City in full flow.
  11. City just can't handle the pace of Bayern and Gareth Barry is a big reason for that. Did Mancini not watch Germany-England in the World Cup?
  12. Krul 6 - Not much to do. Simpson 6 - Ok. S. Taylor 8 - Solid yet again. Coloccini 8 - Forming a very good partnership with Taylor. R.Taylor 5 - Poor for Blackburn's goal, struggled against Hoilett Obertan 7.5 - Very, very good. Direct running and a constant threat. Tiote 8 - Looks back on top form, another assist in a combative display. Cabaye 8 - Battles, superb range of passing and wonderful vision. Desperate for him to score. Jonas 7 - Gorgeous reverse pass to Ben Arfa. Kept the ball well and was full of running as per usual. Best 8 - Tireless worker, deserved a goal, good assist for our opener. Ba 9 - Can't really ask for more, silenced the doubters in emphatic fashion. HBA 7 - Decent cameo, could have scored if he'd been a bit more selfish. Marveaux 6
  13. Good day to have him in your fantasy team like.
  14. What a goal. Great play from Aguero.
  15. Meh. Just can't believe we have to play away from home, again.
  16. 56th at the minute, wondering whether its too early to stick HBA in the squad. Not in the starting 11, just in there and on the bench so I can get him while he's cheap. Or is that just a pointless transfer?

    Ligue 1

Bump for Baba, Marseille got their first win tonight after a terrible start to campaign. 2-0 win against Evian for them. Montpellier top after 3-1 win at Ajaccio, Lyon lose for the first time this season 1-0 at Caen, Rennes thump Sochaux 6-2 and PSG beat Nice 2-1 at home, all 3 goals were penalties and there were two red cards.
