This. Hopefully he'll choose Arsenal.
-
Would be like signing a whole new Smith or Nicky Butt imo except that he's more versatile.
-
He's better than Simpson, Williamson and Taylor. He's a vastly overrated footballer playing average football in a very good team. He's no better than Simpson at RB, Williamson yeah he probably has the edge but Taylor has shown himself to be decent in defence and offers more of a threat in the box from set pieces. Just my opinion obviously but I feel he's helped by this illusion that he's adept at playing the holding role as well as across the back four.
-
Into the starting XI? No chance. Offers fuck all going forward if he plays full back and he's no better than any of our centre backs.
-
Not twitter but just overheard someone at work (Man U fan) saying that O'Shea would get into our first team or Spurs' or Everton's, all of which have better players than him at the back. Utterly clueless Really irritates me to be honest, fair few Man U fans at work and all they ever talk shit about football.

I mean really starting a thread because Fulham are playing Eskimo FC
-
Lock the thread man ffs, this is just daft
-
A new thread already

N.Taylor LB cover Raylor RB Cover Saylor RB, CB, LB Tavernier RB, CB Ferguson LB (even though we all know he's a winger) Can't see us spending much money on squad cover tbh. Not under Ashley anyway.

Don't see what would be wrong with signing Long. Good record in the Championship, Everton have done well giving Championship players a chance and we've seen it work with the likes of Williamson and Best.
-
Given handed in a transfer request, N'Zogbia did, Carroll was a freak instance. Milner with hindsight was probably wrong though. Widely believed to have been done to balance the books after the Colo signing though was it not? I know which one I prefer.
-
Its all well and good saying its not that impressive but if you look at the shit they had in their squad just a few years ago it shows how far they've come. Good for the rivalry imo to have both NE teams recruiting well.

I've now started referring to my source as 'The Gimp'
-
I've taken Gimp's rumour and sent it round twitter. I'm being bombarded with questions and insults
-
Their reactions over a totally unsubstantiated rumour
-
Agree, the material is fantastic.

I don't think Mass Exodus is the right term, I think 'phased re-building' is probably more apt. I highly doubt that the likes of Best and Jonas are to leave for now as they both have something to offer the team. People go on about Jose and Barton but the fact is neither has left yet, and from the noises that have come from Barton and local journos it doesn't look like he'll be going anywhere imo. That can change obviously and while we may lose Enrique it will probably be a for a fee larger than what we paid for him enabling us to buy a hopefully adequate replacement. People can crow on about us having no ambition and us being a selling club all they like but the fact remains we've lost one player who wanted a ridiculous contract for a player of his age and brought in by all accounts 3 highly talented players, 2 that can add much to our midfield and one who is a proven goal threat. All this while only spending £5m, compare that to Liverpool who will get recognition from the masses of unashamedly biased journalists for paying over-inflated fees for unproven talent. Now that's all well and good but they'll have to balance the books somehow as they don't have CL football (and probably won't for a while if Man City get their way) or the stadium to pay for it. I'm more than happy with our current strategy, which is keeping the club on a sound financial footing and improving the side at the same time.

Both those Benfica tops and that Lazio one are brilliant.

His communication with fans via twitter has been pretty good and he seems to be switched on with matters at the club. Hardly the greatest journalist or writer for that matter, but he appears to know what's going on.
-
This, the Journal article just seemed to be pure speculation based on the Marveaux signing and some Spanish website saying Seville wanted Colo but can't afford him.

He's a West Ham fan, nothing much else needs to be said, other than that he's fatter than Ashley and Shepherd put together.

We should retire the number, no one currently or anyone that is going to sign is worthy of it.
