Hate to see good players linked to Liverpool. And #NUFC - don't sell. Why would Liverpool's interest in Clichy force us to sell? We don't have to sell. Depends on Enrique, and if we actually want money for him. I'd rather keep him, push up the table and convince him to stay, but I'll rephrase, why do we have to sell to Liverpool?

Wouldn't be ideal, but him and Best up front would be adequate to stay where we are in the league. If we want to move forward though we need better options.

These prices are ridiculous. Ranger's young and English - he must be worth at least £10m. I'd rate the whole NOFC team at £1M at this rate. After Gash's performance v Stoke - mebbe £0.5m. If Gash is worth 0.5m I'm at least worth £3m.

No way they'll sell Meireles, him and Maxi Rodriguez have been their best players over the past year. Gerrard may still be there but he's fast becoming a crock.

Not 100%, but: - He has confirmed he's joining us. - His manager has confirmed he's joining us. - Our own website "accidentally" uploaded a holding page for a video entitled "Cabaye's first interview". I think all in all it'll just be a case of him passing a medical (if he hasn't already) once he's finished international duty. sweet...but isn´t his national duty over? Only a matter of hours ago, give him a chance! Edit - or maybe it isn't.... France are playing Poland on Thursday.

Everyone's favourite bullshit merchant. @cwarr07 Colin Neil Taylor has agreed a 5 year contract with #nufc Fee of 1m a bargain, yet again shrewd work in the transfer market by the club 3 minutes ago via Twitter for iPhone
-
@nicknufc Nicholas McGee @MsiDouglas what about this Taylor lad? Is that close to being done? @MsiDouglas Mark Douglas @nicknufc Wasn't on NUFC duty today but seems absolutely certain This lad and Cabaye wouldn't be a bad start to the transfer window.

That's fucking class.

Is the conclusion that concrete? Me French isn't good enough for that kind of subtlety. Its along those lines. I'll have a look see if I can find the original L'Equipe article that its come from. Need to book up on my French anyway as I'm going to Paris at some pooint this summer. Never mind that, you need it to live in Newcastle these days. There is nothing concrete in the article, just seems to be them speculating that he's chosen us, or maybe his decision has been leaked.

Basically Lille have accepted that he's leaving to join us.

The guy who tweeted that made it sound all dead in the water then did the most epic backtrack of all time, 'I don't think final negotiations have started yet.' or something along those lines. Probably because he's with the French squad.

aye. I reckon it will go something like this: Back Four: " DONT f*** UP" Tiote: "WATCH THE SHOP" French Foreign Legion in front of tiote: "ATTAQUER!!!"

Monaco down.
-
Could see him going season after next. Wants to play in Italy at somepoint.
-
Not looking good for Monaco at the minute.
-
Is that him stating it? Gervinho hasn't stated it no, just that prize bell on twitter who sometimes gets it right.
-
@cwarr07 Colin Gervinho will be playing for #nufc next season......time to celebrate.....Ashley, Carr, Llambias, Charnley & Pardew deserve all the credit. Salt. Pinch. Massive.

Isn't playing in the Premier league more attractive than playing 6 games in the Champions league and playing in Ligue 1? Good point. Ligue 1 is nowhere near the PL's standard - it's like the SPL imo. Not so sure that comparison works, the standard might not be as good as the PL but I'd fancy a lot of the French league to beat the dross that inhabits the SPL (Rangers and Celtic aside) plus Marseille, Bordeaux and Lille have all won the league, breaking Lyon's stranglehold on the title, even PSG could finish above Lyon if results go their way. What I meant was that I think Ligue 1 is probably, football quality-wise, at a level similar to the SPL. But now that I think about it, Ligue 1 is probably at a level better than the Championship but still below the PL. A few of the games I watched in France a couple of years ago were definitely more entertaining than a standard game in the Championship. I take your point, but I just think the quality in Ligue 1, in the top half anyway, is a fair bit higher than the SPL.
