Glorious. Absolute fucking steal. Will improve our midfield no end, he is the box to box player we so desperately need.
-
Really raw, but just oozes potential. Fast and agile with a penchant for the spectacular, this kid can definitely become something special but needs to be nurtured in the right way. If we were to sign him the right move would definitely be to loan him straight back to Bastia, who have another young gem in Wahbi Khazri, who is away at the AFCON at the moment.

Excellent signing, if he plays to his potential will be the best centre-back we've seen at the club. Talent-wise he's better than both Woodgate and Colo.
-
Please make this one happen.
-
Seen a fair bit of him, would probably compare him to Lillian Thuram but at LB. He's tall, physical and solid defensively. Does get forward but could probably improve that side of his game. If he develops as he has done so far he will become a top player.

Brilliant signing if it goes through. Nancy are not in the best financial position - they just had to terminate their captain's contract as it was placing a strain on the club - and are looking certs for relegtation so that is probably why they have accepted such a low offer for such an excellent prospect. Really cracking work by the club if we get it done.
-
One of the best young players in the France, has excelled in a god awful Nancy team and for the price being touted he would be an excellent signing. Still has a lot of developing to do, but has the physicality and pace to adapt well to the English game. Not sure how we would fit him in to the starting XI but that shouldn't stop us from getting him in.
-
Would he play like a winger or an offensive midfielder/Second Striker in that formation? Offensive midfielder/second striker with the freedom to roam. He's been played that way at Ajax for a lot of this season and it's worked.
-
Christ, people turning their noses up at De Jong You seen our midfield? We have three players (Cabaye, Marveaux and Ben Arfa) who possess anything anywhere near top level creativity. Not that difficult to fit him into the team. Tiote Anita Cabaye HBA De Jong Cisse

Lyon would sell Gomis for the right money. Regardless of how well he's done for them, they were actively trying to flog him in the summer as part of a cost cutting mission - much like Marseille - and nothing has changed despite their position at the top of the league.
-
As I've said before he would add a bit of dynamism in the midfield which we certainly need at the moment. He's more of a box to box midfielder and is not a Tiote replacment, however he is physically strong and that would certainly help our considerably lightweight midfield. I'd sign him in January, his signing would not be a vital one but it would definitely be of benefit to the team.

Haidara for 3m would be an excellent signing, one of the best young players in France without a shadow of a doubt. Sissoko for 3.5m would be great business too. Bong... meh, he's decent, but wouldn't add anything special imo.

Full Times article. Nothing new.

I'm a LB/LW for what it's worth. Shane Ferguson but better looking.

He's not really in any kind of form at the moment though. Yes he has had a very good start to the season (eight goals and six assists in 18 games), but he hasn't scored since November and although he was instrumental in their win over PSG his form has really dropped off since and that's the main reason why Saint-Etienne have slumped from title challengers to 10th in the table. Aubameyang is undoubtedly an exceptional talent, but while ASSE would probably initally demand 10-12m euros, I would suspect that they would likely accept around 8m if the right club came along. I stand corrected on his form, but "form" in this case would be the same sort of "form" Cabaye was made out to have through last season, his price tag will be significantly affected. We are in agreement that it definitely has enhanced his reputation. He was absolutely on fire at the start of the year but I think he is one of these players who goes through spells. I do think he is the best option out of him, Remy and Gouffran to be fair.

Florian Thauvin is a decent young player, pacy, creative and versatile. He can play in behind a striker or on either flank, but I don't think he is ready for the PL yet. Isimat-Mirin would be a good signing. Physically imposing CB who would work well with Colo. He's only 21 and he is a damn sight better than Williamson that's for sure.

Full article from the Times. Nothing new really.

Yet people were complaining about our style of play earlier in the season when he was available and praising our performances away at Old Trafford and the Ermirates when he wasn't? Still he was part of the team that put in our best performance of the season, first half against Sunderland. When he's pressing forward and sees a lot of the ball he is absolutely top draw.
-
Cabaye. We're a million times better with him in midfield and he is a decent goal threat as well.
-
Balotelli would be brilliant at Newcastle.
-
Depressed, angry and completely drained after that. We desperately miss Cabaye.
-
Must win for me. We need a shot in the arm badly and a cup win could be a decent springboard.

That plus Ba looking like he's gone does make the Remy deal look more likely. The only obstacle might be if a London club comes in and he prefers to be down there. Against that we do have our own french contingent here which has turned out to be a factor in others coming here. Starting to get cautiously optimistic on this again. Indeed, of course you never know with this club but I expect we will sign him. Don't want to get too confident but a front three of Remy, Cisse and Ben Arfa would be excellent.
