  1. at least if he did, we wouldn't have to worry about the bugger putting through our net until we qualified for the CL damn good player though...
  2. if it does come down to him going to madrid, you reckon sir alex might try to get soldado as part of any deal? a young, strong target man like he's wanted for years ... hirst/shearer
  3. that's pretty much what i was thinking, he's had a good season but there's no way he's worth that much £. if wenger manages to get that much for him it's a definite hats off
  4. http://www.arsenalpies.tv/Alan%20Smith.JPG (lethal weapon style) 'i'm getting too old for this....' still probably get more shots in than our alan smith though
  5. skysports.com seem to think arsenal are wanting £32m for him. i'd be telling them to jog on.
  6. Q for the spurs fans: what's hoddle thought of down at whl since being in charge and then sacked? has his stock amongst fans gone down any for not being a great manager? or is he still revered as the great player he was? just asking because of the shearer / blackburn manager situation, shearer/newcastle manager situation as it was.
  7. He's most likely off to Spurs Jeff Vetere is off to Spurs? :-) plausible, everyone else seems to be lol
  8. Harry Kewell. 'the new darren anderton'
  9. i haven't but that's a fantastic name. swiss david beckham ... sounds interesting

  11. i would love it, love it! i do think he would make a good coach. he's a good seasoned professional, the right sort of attitude, fantastic first touch as you say, can cross / take set pieces, has a good respect by the fans and players. seems to tick all the right boxes to me, he would be a good example to the young un's too (on the pitch)
  12. that's good to hear he'll be getting help from spurs

    Peter Crouch

dailymailonline says ... 'O'Neill ready to accept Crouch and £8m in swap deal for Barry from Aston Villa to Liverpool'

    Arda Turan?

sky sports reckon we've put/putting in a £9m bid for turan and that gala are wanting around £11m
  15. i'd like to see him come back can't see it happening though, circumstances for him moving down there in the first place and the like. has anything changed with his situation?
  16. it seemed like a bargain at the time, £5m for a player they paid £17m for a couple of years earlier, we weren't to know he was going to get a career threatening injury at the time. who knows how much that injury has taken out of his game? we've not seen much of him to judge, but if we got an offer around the same as we paid, we'd be daft not to think about it.
  17. that's exactly what i said to my mate last night, i think it would be something that gazza would enjoy doing too. maybe even something to do with newcastle and gateshead, i'm sure his old mate bogie would help out
  18. it is sad he was a hero to us as kids and it's a shame to see him in such a bad way

    Arda Turan?

i'd like to see emre stay, i do rate his as a player when he's fit. if we were to sign turan, i think emre and him would give us a lot of creativity as well as help turan settle in.
  20. Keegan isn't even involved in the deals I don't think. He'll have given someone a list (hard to predict who from the labyrinth that is 'the upstairs', maybe Wise) . The they'll go and try to get them........ or Keegan will return to find the French u17 Squad instead. that actually nearly made me spit coffee all over my monitor laughing
  21. i think there is a lot of fear that the 'bowyer summer' will happen again when we really need to strengthen the squad, which i think richard dunne would do, he's a proven premiership player and we've spunked more money on worse defenders in the past, so providing we aren't going to have to pay a kings ransom for him it might be worth going in for him
  22. worth a pop for £2.75m. he's got 11 goals in 25 starts (13 sub) last season, which isn't really that far behind oba. i know it's a different league but he could prove to be a good signing at that price.

    Euro 96

if only it had been shearer sliding in on the end of gazza's cross not the other way around. either that or if gazza had bigger feet...
