well lovenkrands worked well with carroll last season, especially at home. you'd have thought hughton would have played those 2 up to against blackpool and stoke, so it's worth a try at least
-
yeah, he just seemed to get bored and lose interest in fitba after he won the champions league with barca, just seems to have gone through the motions since then
-
i still don't like it but i'll probably end up getting it, most likely at christmas. it'll be the usual conversation between my and my sis... her: 'what do you want for xmas?' me: 'no idea' her: 'shall i get you the new newcastle shirt?' me: 'aye, go on then'

cacapa - i thought he'd be good (he was alright, bar that pompey game which he shouldn't have played in as he wasn't fit) andersson - thought he'd be better than he was tomasson - thought he was shite, proved me wrong by winning the champions league with ac milan

Not that hard to believe. The mongs demanded an English manager and he was the best option. The other option was Sam Allardyce (Assuming that Brazil, Spain, Real Madrid, Barca, Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea, Inter Milan and Bayern didn't ask him first) chills the spine that does, not in a good way either

i'm sure my dad says we had alan hansen on trial and would have signed him before liverpool had we not been in the middle of sacking a manager?
-
i think he was asking daft money, then turned up at millwall a a few years later a canny bit overweight
-
i really rated kennet andersson, thought he had a great usa '94 and hoped we'd sign him, we got kitson instead iirc gutted we didn't sign hyypia, he and albert would have been a good centre back pairing
-
that was pretty funny

he's a wanker like

I don't agree that he was terrible for the majority of his first season here. He probably had 6 to 8 poor games while the club was in turmoil. He came to a new country and ended up at a club that was self-destructing, I think anybody would have struggled under those conditions. He had a very good season in the Championship, it was always going to be a possibility that he’d have bad days in the Premiership and he probably will but I’m confident that he’ll get over it much easier than he would have in the past. He’s got a cult following and I think we can stop worrying about him because he’s comfortable at the club and he knows that we’re on his side. Having Tiote in midfield of him will make life much easier for everybody at the back.

i've been looking but can't find that quote where souness was trying to say that he wasn't a bad player

i always wanted to get a pair of cycling shorts to wear under shorts john barnes / andy cole style. never got around to doing it
-
probably tonked 6-0 in the first game by someone like czech republic which knocks the stuffing out of us, fluke a 1-1 draw from a long ball up field in the 2nd against cameroon, scrape a 0-0 draw in the 3rd against chile and go out on goal difference, with our top scorer being the veteran kevin davies with one goal

never used to like tucking my shirt in to play, always used to not bother tucking it in just like chrissy waddle

Well we've got a great group of lads here and we'll just be taking every game as it comes -
re: shot speeds, I'm sure I remember seeing julian dicks taking a penalty for west ham against man united with schmeichel in goal at upton park circa 96-98 and the shot being recorded at 99.9mph. Always made me wonder if it was faster than that but the machine didn't have enough digits
-
He'd have to swallow a canny bit of humble pie to come back here, and I think he'd only do so if he was guaranteed first choice, which would be a bit harsh on krul
-
It's nice to have a player who can create something out of nothing like he did yesterday, been a long time since we've been able to say that

Like chucking a hot dog up northumberland street

He really does wind me up. As well as he did with bolton I still think he'd have taken us down, aiming to get draws against derby and not even attempting to win games you genuinely stand a chance of winning if you tried is suicide
-
he really does boil my piss

allardyce spouting yet more shite again on sky sports....
