  1. i'd love for him to come back, if he could manage on his terms without tied hands. obviously he'd have a budget to work within, but a budget which would be 'first team only' and someone else would recruit young talent to the academy / squad, with some sort of separate budget. i know it probably would never happen, it should, which probably means it won't
  2. that said, chris mort used to speak to the press and to the manager, which seems a hell of a lot more than llambias. it seemed that mort was sort of a peacekeeper or mediator
  3. aside from zico and houllier, dalglish is probably the best option been mentioned, although i couldn't imagine him taking orders from dennis wise on who he could or couldn't sign. barnes and rush would probably still be a better front line than smith and ameobi though
  4. and celtic signed the brilliantly apt named rafael schiedt

    Viduka

he's a great player but he's only really reliable as a squad player now, i reckon between him and fat ronaldo you'd probably cover the season and get a few goals
  6. propellerheads w. shirley bassey if i remember rightly

  10. my mate was driving down hartlepool and her mam grabbed the wheel to steer the car to hit george reynolds once, needless to say my mate didn't know who he was and slammed the anchors on. her mam was livid at not hitting him!

  13. i'm sure it was hutchings who signed bramble like, poor bruce though having to endure a titus OG within the first 30 seconds of his first game in charge

  17. *crosses fingers* although i do see him walking for free like, hope not though
  18. One of the best right backs in world. He was excellent but never close to the likes of Zanetti or Cafu. yeah, i was just thinking cafu when Toon Argy said one salgado @ real madrid was a great right back until the injuries hit too i always liked panucci too
  19. had the milner money been used to bring in a younger replacement and a back up left back for enrique i think it would have been a more successful transfer window. i don't think it's too much to ask for a manager to have final say on signings for the first team...
  20. rivaldo and his blatant play acting in world cup '02
  21. yup, same here, i thought 'first team coach' was wise-speak for 'manager'. i was thinking, lazy bastards not even looking properly for a new manager...
  22. i'm guessing that, because owen didn't really seem to want to come here in the first place, whereas jonas (as far as we're informed) bought out his contract to actually come here. i might be wrong like...
