Because of our current financial plight, I can kind of understand Ashley resenting spending money in abundance, but what really, really annoys me is this bullshit attitude towards the DOF system. It pisses me off no end. Why cant you just realise that it doesnt work in England and that we wont get a good manager with it in place, Mike?!!! I'd get off his case a hell of a lot more if he told Wise to fuck off and let the manager do the business. Its so simple yet he makes it so bloody hard...

It's very weird at the AOL (HSV) where a bloke comes round and fills up yer glass from a beer pump on his back during the game. Sounds like American football.... But with better hot dogs. Aye, them Germans do like their sausage... Steady. Just how the like it.

Ruud Guillit. Utter cunt.

That's my optimistic assessment as well, otherwise Kinnear not signing the contract doesn't make sense. I am still nervous about the appointment they actually do make though. Hopefully we will be "pleasantly surprised". Yep, because all of their 'cunning ploys' so far have turned out so well... How many times have we thought 'they must have a plan', 'they wouldn't be so stupid as to do what they seem to be doing, it must be part of some elaborate behind the scenes motive'... It's not, there's no plan, no decoy, they are stupid f***ing idiots who risk destroying the club by making THE WORST managerial appointment in our club's history. Agreed. What 80 and Big Tron are saying redefines wishful thinking. Unfortunately, there's not much evidence to support their theory and I fully expect Kinnear to take them up on their offer if and when he recovers to full fitness. But surely he'll be advised not to manage again by the doctors? He's in his 60's now and with an instable heart condition he just cant be expected to manage again.....especially at NUFC! He's a stubborn bastard but surely even he'll see that throwing in the towel would be the best thing to do. Hopefully his missus will have a word...

Riquelme simply will not come here. That article is such a load of bollox. Plus, we'd have to pay over 3m for him so its a no go as far as we're concerned. But why would anyone object to him playing for us just because he's 31? He'd still the best player in our team by a mile anyway! And behind Kaka is the best CAM in the world. He's a genius. I remember seeing him say in FFT a year or two ago that he's never going to leave Boca, so...

reading that article makes me envy German football so much.....and hate English football. Why do the Germans always have to do things better than everyone else? ffs...
-
Isnt their stadium called 'The Opora house'? i.e having the best atmosphere in the country?

I dont think h'd come to us either, tbh. Why leave a club on the rise like Swansea for a crackpot, unstable club like Newcastle?! He's well within his comfort zone at Swansea and might not want to leave it yet. But he does seem like a good prospect. I'd like him at SJP and with a bit of luck (injuries etc) and the right backing, then he could become a real hit with us. Lets face it though, we're not going to be getting the likes of Van Gaal, Houllier, Bruce etc. in any time soon. We have to face it. I think we'd even struggle to tempt Shearer at this stage. Going for people like Martinez isnt a bad idea at this stage.
-
Yes, football fans are definitely being priced out of the game- or at the least being ripped off. I've only been to SJP one ( :-[) purely because its too expensive when you take into account the very awkward time-tables RyanAir give you from flying from Dublin to Newcastle. For two people the flights can cost upto €200, and then if you put ontop of that the ticket prices and all that come with a matchday then its very expensive. I just cant afford it. And plus, I wouldnt fancy shelling out all that money to see a shite, half-hearted performance and a loss. I just wouldnt be worth it. But in saying all this, if I lived in or around the Newcastle area then I'd probably buy a season ticket. In terms of away games the prices are so expensive for people. I dont know how people can afford it, especially when so many people have been made redundant recently. The Fans Association were trying to get clubs to set a limit on away ticket prices- which is absolutely correct. How clubs like WBA, Fulham etc. can charge £40 for a ticket is just disgraceful. I remember a few seasons ago Man Utd fans threatened to boycott their away game Vs Fulham due to being charged £40 for a ticket. I have a mate in Germany and he goes to all the Bremen home games and tickets only cost him €10 a pop! sometimes abroad with Bremen and he got charged €30 for a ticket at the San Siro was AC Milan and thought it was way too expensive! I'd hate for him to come to England... But the only way clubs will lower prices is for fans to stop going. Its simple. Although only 2 clubs in the PL have cut their season ticket prices: Portsmouth and mackems.

Hasnt Sven proven that although he is a canny manager, he needs an absolute shitload of money to succeed?

I'm very jealous of Villa atm, but at the same time happy to see them doing well. In fairness to them they've been in the doldrums for way too long, and its about time they had their moment in the sun. We had ours......although I can see them staying at/near the top longer than we did. Villa and Man City have been two teams I've had soft spots for in recent seasons, but I fucking hate Man City now. Bunch of Chelsea wannabe cunts! Villa have spent a fair chunk of money to get where they are but City have probably spent more this January window than they have in 2 seasons.Crazy. If I could see 1 team drop out of the top 4 it'd have to be Liverpool- jammy cunts- that'd be hilarious! Closely followed by Chelsea.

Personally I think the Ashley investing quote is a load of bollox, but IF my theory is proven wrong, then I would be guessing that this 8m would go on top of 5m (out of MA pocket) and the clubs income from transfers.
-
He's such a great manager, its just a pity he has to spoil it by being such a bitter c*nt the whole time! Anytime one of his players gets the slightest touch its all moaning and whining and how he should be banned and how his players are always targeted etc. blah blah blah.... But when its the other way round.....well, THEN he suddenly goes temporarily blind until the incident is over, ffs! The man is pathetic.

I hate Spurs, I hope they go down.....but I cant see it. Honestly though, I think they'll come close. They have an easier run in than us, imo, but they always struggle against the lesser teams and there is a distinct lack of team harmony in the dressing room. The only way I can see them really standing a chance of going down is if they get a load of injuries (like us) and their remaining players get burnout. Remember the old cliche? No team is too good to go down. Too true. Lets just keep our fingers crossed, eh?
-
Well Nolan's out for this game and the Bolton game which wont help. Too early to predict an actual score but Everton are a team on form atm and I cant see past them. You never know, we might sneak a point though. We'll have Wor Jonas back at least!
-
Its just the squad (size) we have that worries me most. Nolan's gonna be missing for the Everton AND Bolton game due to suspension, and with no Barton and Guthrie we're gonna struggle. Although we will have Jonas back...

Were we only given an allocation of 1800 or was that the amount that applied to go?
-
Colo and Enrique got caught a few times today and we were pretty lucky not to get punished. Against a better side we could've paid dearly for it.
-
Feeling a little bit better but theres still a hell of a lot of work to be done. Our fixture list in the run in is pretty harsh...
-
I agree, it looks like Bassong keeps pushing them up and we don't have the pace if we get it wrong. aye, and Enrique was asleep in our latest escape.
