We must win this game though. Considering we're going to Arsenal after, we need to get as many points on the board as possible.
-
I think we should line up as: ---------------------Given------------- ----Beye------Taylor------Collocini----Enrique--- ----Jonas------Butt-----Guthrie------Duff-------- ------------------Owen--------Martins--------- Thats IF Owens fit. I think we'll win 3-0 and Danny Guthrie will score.

Best ever from the ultras. That one always makes me break into fits of laughter as I hear it as the first part being just "spoken" out there, then a small moment of silence before "fuuuck"

What about the 'Follow Follow Follow' song? Thats a great song and I can see it being a hit with our fans. Is it: Follow Follow follow Newcastles the team to follow with a pint in wor hand, we will travel the land because Newcastles the team to follow ?

We need competition/cover for LB A replacement for Nicky Butt An attacking, creative midfielder And a striker So thats 4 positions and KK said maybe 4 signings could be on their way in. The only one I can guess is Saviola. I'd like him. It doesnt matter if hes too small or not. Hes a good player and very skillful. And besides, I thought we were trying to play the ball on the deck this season....not hoofing it up to the big man. I cant see us going after Warnock either. 6m is way to high and considering they bought him for 1.5m we'd be doing a transfer that we always used to do in the FFS era: pay way too much for average players. Taiwo would be great.

I really hope this is true. A midfield of: ----Duff-----Tiago----Guthrie-----Jonas--- Would be f*cking class. Considering he can pass the ball he's bound to have a good run in the team. Lets hope its true.

I think its pretty slick. We're never gonna wear it if its a 'cup kit' considering we never get past the 4th round... :-[ I actually like it better than the purple one but I'll see which one I get. I must say that I didnt like the white box in the middle but I sort of like it now.

Overall Bowyer was a better player. I remember reading an interview with Johnathan Woodgate and he said that Lee Bowyer is probably the fittest player hes ever met. He said that during the court case thing, both him and Bowyer hadnt played for about a month...or trained. But Bowyer was still fit enough start for Leeds, apparently. Trouble wise their both on par but Bowyer was better than Barton.

the mackems are looking good so far and if reports are true that their looking to bring in Stewart Downing, then they have a pretty good team. I must say that at this current stage, Im sort of not looking forward to playing them next season. Although we'll have to see who we get in.

It'd be great if we could get Coloccini though. Somehow I just cant see us going in for him.
-
Quite embarrassing tbh. Good point though Dave, at least its another moaning c*nt out of SJP. In recent years some of our support have developed a very arrogant attitude and it really pisses me off.

He would not be here if he was not getting good wedge, KK knows the value of himself always has done. Because of what he done first time around. Sir Bobby loved club he didn't work for nowt & when he got the heave ho he battled to get his cash rather than say "I love club & I know the debts are high so I am walking away nowt". Steven Taylor loves the club but he would of f***ed off if he didn't get his wedge sorted. Fred Shep & Sir John are fans of NUFC but they didn't give there shares to Mike Ashley & say "We are only millionaires so we handed control to a sportswear billionaire" . It is possible to love club but be there basically for the money. Im sorry but Freddie Shepherd is NOT a fan of Newcastle United football club.

Pah! Nothing the magic sponge cant fix.

I think its a bit hasty of the fans to start putting pressure on the board like this so early on. Remember, not many other clubs have gone transfer 'crazy' so far. But I am frustrated so far and I dont blame the fans getting impatient. I mean, we've been left in the dark about this. Theres been little or no reaction from KK on any transfers, nothing from Llambias....nothing. You can understand people getting worried when they have no reaction from the club on anything for weeks and are so starved of info that they have to rely on shitty newspapers to give them transfer plans etc. Keep the faith.

I think that we've actually gone in for 3 or 4 players but we've been turned down. NUFC has fallen a long way since the days of Robson and KK's last reign. We cant offer Europe or a strong challenge for trophies. We just dont have the pulling power we used to. Plus the fact that we're not willing to pay ridiculous wages to average players anymore. Weather Ashley is willing to spend....I dont know. But all the doubters and believers will find out soon enough. Tbh, Id rather we signed few players that were right for the club instead of just lots of useless shit.

Aye. Most days Im like that but some days Im fuckin obsessed.
-
Milners been better than Steven Taylor over the last 2 seasons yet Taylor kicks up such stink about it and never shuts up about it. I cant see Milner doing the same here.
-
I dont see Chelsea as a 'top 4' club but I might as well accept that for the foreseeable future the are. F*ckin cheats.

Agreed, I remember that very well also. Parker was Unbelievable. A real battler. And by the final whistle he was probably only half conscious!
-
Problem though is that Parker is horribly limited in possession. Can't pick a pass to save his life and has an appalling first touch. Comparing him to Rob Lee is absolutely absurd in the extreme. At best he could have been a decent holding midfielder, very good energy about him and well able to tackle and close people down. Lacks a good enough reading of the game to ever be top class in that position, but he good have been pretty decent. Unfortunately either he or Roeder got it into their heads that he could be our box-to-box, driving force playmaker in midfield, which is a truly laughable concept, given his aforementioned f***ing uselessness going forward. Fair enough, fair enough. Your right mate about Scotty being very limited in possession. I remember when he used to pick the ball up in and around the halfway, and it was a chance to break away or spray it to the wings, he always used to turn around and look for a 5-10 yard pass behind him. That was incredibly frustrating. He had a bad habit of killing our momentum at times. He had one hell of a long range shot on him though. That goal he scored for us against Charlton was a feckin bullet. I actually thought he read the game well enough for us though. He was always very good at breaking up player for us. Big shame him and Emre never got enough games together imo. But yeah, your post sums him up pretty well, Shak.

I think we're a big club. A) The amount of attention we get from the media and nation. B) We're in the top 10 most successful English clubs in terms of trophies. C) Massive fan base and stadium. Thats gotta count. But as people have said on this thread, who cares what other non NUFC fans think. Its our club, we can think what we want about it so fuck them.
-
Aye thats a good call Dazza. I was gutted when Parker left for the Spammers, he was a very honest and hard-working player. He was always going to struggle when he had Glenn Roeder as manager, Nicky Butt as his CM partner and carrying a captaincy he wasnt able for. We never replaced Gary Speed. Sadly the clubs idea of his replacement was Lee Bowyer. We never replaced Rob Lee properly as well. But yeah, under KK I think he would be a quality player. Especially with the right midfield partnership. Cant ever see him coming back though.
-
Agreed. Although I can see the likes of Duff and Smith earning twice as much. I hope we can get Jimmys contract sorted out soon, along with Harpers and Owens. Nothing worse than key players contracts dragging on.
