  1. The 'newer' or younger generation of our support is so cringe. I remember at the beginning of the season when our reserves played the mackem reserves at SJP, after the game there was literally hundreds of these wanna-be hooligans outside the East Stand after the game goading about 5-10 mackems, asking them for a scrap. A couple of older mackems made a move towards them- or at least showed a mild interest- and there was a stampede U-turn from the kids all running for their lives Such a bunch of wankers who just make us look pathetic.
  2. Spain and Sweden let me down tonight. Ireland and fucking Finland, man
  3. I feel sorry for West Ham fans, tbh. Powerless to stop their club (needlessly) leaving their traditional home for some makeshift soulless ground away from their community. It really is very sad to see, imo- from a general footballing perspective. As said by many, they cant even consistently fill The Boleyn Ground and with many supporters preparing to revolt against the move, what bloody hope do they have of filling a 54,000 seater? This is what happens when non-footballing people make football decisions.
  4. Good work, detective. Interesting point.
  5. As always with travelling to that shithole, everything that could have gone wrong did. Please just let them get relegated and be rid of them forever, repulsive, soulless club.
  6. Amazing, what a great lad. So good to see that.
  7. Brighton just have such a horrible plastic look about them. Very much a 'new generation' fan base. Plus, those cup loses don't help at all.
  8. Seriously, not this time, honestly. But I saw the odds of 25 and just couldn't resist. You know, the typical Bayern arrogance, an early Arsenal goal, one Bayern player sent off and there you go... You do know they have to score 3, not 1? Realistically, they'll need to score 4 to go through. I just remember Inter Milan coming to Munich, having lost 1-0 at the San Siro. Bayern turned up in their "We've already won" mentality and got beat 2-3. It can happen. Realistically it won't happen. But in football, impossible is nothing. The comparison you've used couldn't be any more different! And what are you, an Adidas ambassador?

  10. 31 matches, showing 125 yellow cards, 11 red cards and awarded 16 penalties. Probably best we don't play Tiote
  11. Beat Wigan on Sunday and I think we've got ourselves over the line. I think we've picked up form at just the right time, our class is just starting to pull us away. Give Europe as good as we've got and give the mackems a pasting should be our priorities now.

  13. He needs to start. Fed up with him being benched all the time.

    Alan Pardew

Got out of jail. Big time.
  15. What a goal! Man, I am just smitten for this guy! Such a talent. Stoke's defence is so slow and lumbering that we should have set out to have Gouffran, Cisse and Sissoko looking to play on the shoulder and get in behind them at every opportunity and make use of Yohan's passing ability- see his pass for Gouffran over the top in the first half! Again, its down to that grey haired bloke who picks the team.
  16. Gutted about the Hatem news, I'm so desperate to see him play again. However, even without him we should easily have enough about us to put Stoke away. PLAY MARVEAUX
  17. Mistle17

    Hatem Ben Arfa

We have nowhere near enough movement in our side for that to work. Aye, exactly. Until we get a coach who is capable of working with players of this calibre then its not really going anywhere, which is a massive shame. tbf the false no9 only really works when you have the calibre of xavi, bousquets, messi etc to pull it off. has anyone else worked it successfully without a very high calibre of player who have been in the system for a long time ? Think Roma did a decent job of it a few years back with Totti as the F9. They were one of the first to do it?

    Hatem Ben Arfa

I think the idea of Ben Arfa as a 'false 9' could potentially be very successful, especially with players such as Sissoko, Marveaux, Anita, Cabaye and Gouffran behind and supporting. Besides being a tad rusty, we didn't- as a team- play high and wide enough to support Ben Arfa, creating space or dragging their defence out of shape. I've said it time and again: our transitions from defence to attack are appalling (as well as movement when in possession), and until that improves a system with Hatem as the false 9 wont fulfil its potential. Stop playing so direct, get him in between the lines, receive to face forward and support him. Then we'll start to see the benefits.

    Alan Pardew

To put things into perspective, we've lost 14 league games this season- only Wigan (16) and Reading (15) have lost more than us. That means we've lost half our games this campaign. Yeah, class manager.

    Alan Pardew

I couldn't agree more. Summed up very well.
  22. We need Anita in games like these, not the liability that is Tiote.

    Nile Ranger

Contract terminated. Good riddance to an absolute cunt. Great news.
  24. I love him too, but frankly, they've been disqualified from my admiration by (a) Ken Bates, then (b) Abramovich. Much like Man City, I ceased to think of Chelsea as the same entity when Roman bought them. Not a conscious decision, mind, just a gut feeling. tbh at least City's lot are dignified and seem to have common sense (or it could be my lingering good feelings to City due to my father being a fan for far longer than I've been around), Chelsea however.................... That's definitely it, aye.
  25. True, but hugely impressed with Haidara Oh, me too. He looked really solid on Thursday, but I think he should have to work for his place- its not like he's replacing or competing against Simpson.
