I just cant believe this has happened. How the fuck have we ended up in this position (Pardew, aye), it's devastating to think. IF (massive) we secure safety before the end of the season we should sack this awful man and give ourselves plenty of time to look for someone new. It really is so tempting to sack him now, I mean just how much worse can we get?
  2. Yep, not a chance we have a hope in beating them. We scraped past them at home, and we weren't half as bad then. 'Sake..

He's got to go, surely tonight cements that. No one can deny this, yet still I cant imagine it happening- hopefully Ashley shows his ruthless side once again. Another unforgivable performance. Our team and everything about it is just full of negative trends at the moment. Confidence is low, tactics are lethargic and thoroughly negative, Ba leaving is negative, our position and results are all negative. We need a change, and fast. 2 wins (6 points) from our last 11 games. If that's not relegation and 'sackable' form then tell me what is.
  4. No Shola from now on. Please dear god. Everton won the second ball every bloody time, you wouldn't think we're the ones fighting for our lives. THey always had an outlet for the break, a very well drilled, organised team who had it seriously easy for themselves from the minute we scored. Santon was terrible for the second goal, nobody had a good game for us tbh. No point in talking about our style of play, we all know how it goes/went. Absolutely devastated by this, we're in huge, huge trouble. All the results we need this weekend went our way but we blew it. At the same time we lose a massively influential player, we're blowing leads week in week out, playing a very poor quality of football with a good bunch of players under a clueless manager- it's all just so similar to the relegation season. Get Debuchy and (not expecting) a couple of others and we should manage to crawl on our hands and knees over the line. Heartbreaking.
  5. Who would of guessed Tiote giving away that foul? What a bloody strike. Sick.
  6. Everton have a great threat from crosses (as stats show). We should have a better chance of stopping the cross this evening with Simpson out!
  7. Would be tempted to play a 4-4-2 diamond with that line up. Shola and Cisse up top. Everton look to be lining up as 4-4-1-1.
  8. The first one doesn't make sense- Williamson is always so good attacking set pieces, how come he cant defend them.........
  9. Hopefully tonight's one of those nights when adversity brings the crowd and team together and we get a very memorable and momentous victory that kick starts things again. Cisse (2), 2-0 win.
  10. Yes! Get in. Hopefully its a 'Stephen Carr toe injury' and keeps him out for years...
  11. It pained me to find myself agreeing with Phil Brown on SSN. The Jan. window is now just an extra opportunity for the big clubs to hand pick the players they want to win or qualify for their individual targets. It will be very interesting to see how active most clubs in the bottom half (bar QPR) are. It's great that we're getting Debuchy for instance, but this whole thing needs a complete shake up. It's now completely unbalanced and biased towards the rich clubs.
  12. If Chelsea are refusing to pay his demands then that surely rules out a lot of clubs. In Europe it must be only Man City and PSG (plus a handful of Russian clubs) who can afford him- or daft enough to pay him. I think his agent could really scupper a move for him.
  13. It is very disappointing to think that he wants to leave. After becoming such an icon last season and this season you would think he's made a home for himself, but his agent is clearly in his ear at every opportunity. Demba's got pretty much everything he could want at NUFC, despite the club having a very rough season this time out. If his agent was telling him that he thinks he should move because he's at a club with little ambition then fair enough, I can understand that, but if it's for the money and Demba agrees with that then that is deeply, deeply disappointing. And as for this knee theory, I'm not a medical expert but I think the media have blown it so far out of proportion. As Ba said himself, we're all a 'ticking timebomb'. Any players knee could go at any time; one freak tackle or awkward landing and that's their season/career over. Look at Ryan Taylor, I don't remember anyone tipping him for knee trouble. I do appreciate that he's getting on with age but its certainly not something that I'm concerned about. As much as I detest mercenaries and players using clubs as 'stepping stones' I will be gutted if we lose Demba as he is such a quality player and he'll be a huge miss in a vital period in the clubs season and potentially recent history. Modern football is fucking bollocks.
  14. Not really. We'll obviously be a lot better at the back, but selling arguably the best striker in the league is a massive step back. We all know what Cisse is capable of but I think that Demba's a better player overall and with his goals makes him an invaluable player. This is absolute horseshit. Just typical of this regime that we can't ever build a proper squad to compete, it's all about minimising costs and operating on a shoestring.
  15. Get rid of this little runt ASAP, get Debuchy in and use Tavernier or Abeid as back up. Or, still, put Ferguson at LB and Santon RB if needs be. Any of those options would be more beneficial to us than having Simpson playing.
  16. I'm just going to ignore this until I seen no Danny Simpson in our team.
  17. Propa lil' gangsta this fella. Love him! I love the way people were writing him off and saying 'get rid' after about 3 sub appearances and 1 start for us after being riddled with injuries- long term ones as well! Fickle (or ignorant) doesn't even begin! Anyway, played a blinder today. Was a constant outlet for us today, dropped deep to receive it, turn and play, whilst played very well between the lines I thought; dropping into space and causing Arsenal all sorts of problems. His pass for Ba's second was just breathtaking! Technically perfect. Hopefully after Wednesday and today there's no way Pardew cant play him, especially with Ben Arfa out. IF Ba leaves, I'd love to see us line up as: -----------Anita--------Bigirimana---------- ------Ben Arfa------Cabaye-----Marveaux------ -----------------------Cisse---------------- I think that would be amazing. But saying that, I'd do everything to keep Demba.
  18. Just looking at the fixtures for the next game week. A result against Everton is imperative given that all the teams in and around us are either hosting or travelling to very tough teams. More points will be lost than gained and this is a chance to really give ourselves more room to breath. Everton are a very good team, though. In a few weeks time we'll be playing Reading and Aston Villa in the space of a few days- that week could really, really make or break things. 6 points is crucial from those two games, I don't think we should settle for anything less. I think we'll stay up. I feel that despite a threadbare squad and a host of injuries, we've got a lot more firepower and creativity than the team that went done those years ago, plus a bit a resilience for once. We just have to hope that Pardew can keep his hand off the self destruct button and Ashley invests. As I said, I think we'll make it, but 6 points (just two wins) from our last 10 games is very worrying reading.
  19. I'm watching Moneyball, Mike and Dekka definitely watch this too much.
  20. What shouldhappen: Ashley will make a final investment and buy two new defenders to see us over the line and safe so to protect the sell on value of the club. In the summer Ashley will try his hardest to sell the club, be realistic for what he can get price-wise and pass it on. The new owner will sack Pardew, bring in a competent manager who believes in playing slick, attacking football on the deck. St. James' Park will be sterilised of all Sports Direct signage from top to bottom. The squad will be heavily invested in and we'll rebuild and become a real force next season. What will happen: None of the above. The complete opposite, in fact.
