Daniel Abrahams ‏@DanAbrahams77 Play to win and not to lose; play on the front foot & not the back foot; play with freedom and not with fear; play with ur head up not down Please take note, Alan.
  2. It'd be a shame to see him on his his way so soon, imo. Think he looks excellent technically and would probably slot in well to the team if we played him in his correct position and just gave him a run of games. He just hasn't got a proper chance. I'd like to see him on the left against Swansea (assuming we go 4-4-2...).
  3. One of the best moments I've ever had supporting NUFC! Unbelievable
  4. Would love to see Cabaye at the tip of a three man midfield, supported by Perch and Tiote/a class box-to-box midfielder.

Aye, its obvious that he has clauses i.e finishing in a certain position, financial targets even. But I just cant see us making any progression as a club with him here beyond this season. He's out of his depth it's blatantly obvious. I think we should stick with him until the end of the season because mid-season sackings are ridiculous. But, the one thing I shall stick up for him in is that as long as Ashley's here no manager will have a proper, strong squad to compete with.

The option to be direct is there when you have him on, yeah. Perhaps getting on the end of crosses in the box, getting on the end of well drilled set pieces, being constructive in that sense. Not have the ball bludgeoned up to him or hoofed over the top for him to chase- which we were doing. Use him to your advantage and I don't mind, but our 'gameplan' was/is just embarrassing.

Cool, everyone has different opinions. I for one don't fancy him seeing out that 8 year deal of his

Very true, I appreciate that. But it doesn't excuse the way we continued to launch it. Never been a big believe in the 'Hoof it to the big lad up top' myself, but obviously it gets you places!

For me, it's nailed on that you're an absolute cretin for thinking that. Glad you think that I cant see what benefit you see in him staying (beyond this season) is tbh. Do you watch our games?

For me it's nailed on that he's got to go. I'm still a bit emotional from yesterday, which was awful, but I'm convinced that he's completely revealed his true colours now- bringing Shola on yesterday and persisting/encouraging the same 'tactic' said it all for me. People probably think I'm completely overreacting but this is just my opinion! We're not a newly promoted team compromising with average, technically inferior cloggers. It's inexcusable. And as for the 'I hope Pardew learns from this'...'I hope he realises this'...'We'll see if he learns from this, that'll be the true test' etc etc. Well, we find ourselves saying that an awful lot, and, unsurprisingly, he doesn't 'learn' from these things. Mainly because they are not 'mistakes', it is a mixture of a lack of class, cowardice and general incompetence. Not naivety. But for now, we can't sack him. No one respectable would fill the void, it's going to be the end of the season. But it will take an extreme decline for that to happen- balance the books, mid table; Ashley's rubbing his fat hands together. Not looking good.
  11. Can't argue with a word of that. In the second half when we just kept launching it for no reason and losing the ball I was so, so tempted to just go home. It was absolutely horrendous, I was fuming at the final whistle. I still am pissed off, an NUFC game hasn't angered me this time in quite a while. Bringing wor lass to her first ever game next weekend......

Well, had the chance to sleep on it and (try) digest yesterday. Still want him out. Useless prick.
  13. Yeah, the atmosphere at SJP has been really poor all season. Although the Spurs game was good, but that's because it the first game of the season. It's the style of football, it's just totally uninspiring and it just knocks the stuffing out of you. It's so deflating to watch.
  14. It sounds strange but I would be quite interested to sit in on his teams talks pre/half/full time. I'd like to see his team instructions (I wonder!) and what he says to individuals. Considering he's such an odious character.
  15. On another note, their fans were rubbish. Good numbers but hardly heard a peep out of them- probably a good thing with those awful accents.

I said that months ago in the Liverpool thread. Now Rogers might still turn out to be a bad manager, but the football he's producing is the right way to play IF you want to become a successful side. His basic football philosophy is sound, whereas Pardew's looks antiquated. Sorry but you can only get so far with that approach. I agree. I honestly wouldn't mind if we were set up as a team who are well organised and very hard to break down, but live to hit teams on the counter attack- releasing Ben Arfa, Cabaye, Ba and Cisse. Or having someone like West Ham did today in Diame. I'd be more than happy with that. But what we have is a completely disjointed 4-4-2 (it doesn't even look like a formation most of the time) where the players will punt the ball up the pitch as if getting it to cross the half way line is considered an attack. Why do we have to go a goal down to be able to conjure an attack together? Why?!! Its totally inexcusable! And I'm beyond sick of it.
  17. This guy is such an awful footballer. He can carry the ball, but he cant figure out what to do with it, can rarely beat his opponent and couldn't cross the ball if you told him his hair would grow back. Absolutely useless. Please get rid in the summer.

And another thing that fucks me right off with him is his reluctance to try anything new- mainly because he doesn't have a fucking pair. When he does (finally) put something into action (i.e 4-3-3, or not playing Danny Simpson etc) and it isn't a raging success instantly he won't do it again. He seems to deem it ineffective and wont do it again. It's so, so frustrating and yet another sign of how out of his depth he is. At least with someone like Brendan Rodgers he's sticking to what he believes in, despite initial lack of success. But it's all good, apparently we want to control the midfield and play like Barcelona, whilst we've also been working really hard on set pieces and making sure the other team worries about us. But it just hasn't happened yet because the chances just didn't go in today even though the players tried really, really hard in kicking it as far as they could for 90 minutes........

He's just been given an 8 year contract. Why isn't there a philosophy being introduced and ingrained into our academy? If I was him and had just been given an EIGHT YEAR contract I would be intent on doing that. If he was any sort of a good manager he'd be demanding that our younger teams are taught to play the game the correct way and all our teams play a 4-3-3/4-2-3-1 for example, following the first team set up. The only input I've heard that he's had is that the under 18's cant take short corners- it has to go into the box. The same with all of our free kicks too. That just sums him up.
