I said that months ago in the Liverpool thread. Now Rogers might still turn out to be a bad manager, but the football he's producing is the right way to play IF you want to become a successful side. His basic football philosophy is sound, whereas Pardew's looks antiquated. Sorry but you can only get so far with that approach. I agree. I honestly wouldn't mind if we were set up as a team who are well organised and very hard to break down, but live to hit teams on the counter attack- releasing Ben Arfa, Cabaye, Ba and Cisse. Or having someone like West Ham did today in Diame. I'd be more than happy with that. But what we have is a completely disjointed 4-4-2 (it doesn't even look like a formation most of the time) where the players will punt the ball up the pitch as if getting it to cross the half way line is considered an attack. Why do we have to go a goal down to be able to conjure an attack together? Why?!! Its totally inexcusable! And I'm beyond sick of it.
  2. This guy is such an awful footballer. He can carry the ball, but he cant figure out what to do with it, can rarely beat his opponent and couldn't cross the ball if you told him his hair would grow back. Absolutely useless. Please get rid in the summer.

And another thing that fucks me right off with him is his reluctance to try anything new- mainly because he doesn't have a fucking pair. When he does (finally) put something into action (i.e 4-3-3, or not playing Danny Simpson etc) and it isn't a raging success instantly he won't do it again. He seems to deem it ineffective and wont do it again. It's so, so frustrating and yet another sign of how out of his depth he is. At least with someone like Brendan Rodgers he's sticking to what he believes in, despite initial lack of success. But it's all good, apparently we want to control the midfield and play like Barcelona, whilst we've also been working really hard on set pieces and making sure the other team worries about us. But it just hasn't happened yet because the chances just didn't go in today even though the players tried really, really hard in kicking it as far as they could for 90 minutes........

He's just been given an 8 year contract. Why isn't there a philosophy being introduced and ingrained into our academy? If I was him and had just been given an EIGHT YEAR contract I would be intent on doing that. If he was any sort of a good manager he'd be demanding that our younger teams are taught to play the game the correct way and all our teams play a 4-3-3/4-2-3-1 for example, following the first team set up. The only input I've heard that he's had is that the under 18's cant take short corners- it has to go into the box. The same with all of our free kicks too. That just sums him up.
  5. Praying Perch will be back for this, we missed him big time today. Along with Coloccini.

A lot of the time Man Utd play a diamond 4-4-2- which is fluid and flexible, although 4-2-3-1 is a common line up from Ferguson too.
  7. Unfortunately mate, I don't think he's suddenly going to snap out of his incompetent ways and think "Oh, I know, I'll tell our players to stop hoofing the ball and play into feet! Also, I think I'll stop playing Danny Simpson AND Mike Williamson! And just to top it off...I'll play a formation that isn't a 'blob' 4-4-2!." Not having a go, btw. I just think that we're laboured with a completely clueless manager and no 'wake up call' will change that. The club should have invested enough to ensure we never had to endure these two together ever again. Harsh but the truth. You cannot carry players who dont want the ball at this level. I know, I agree as well. But he's had the option before to play Anita at RB instead, but rarely does. We're very limited with CB options, true, but anyone would be better than him. Put Perch in there and reshuffle the midfield.

Spurs (H)- Terrible performance. If it wasn't for Demba's brilliance we wouldn't have won, Spurs let us off the hook completely. Villa (H)- Another lethargic performance. If it wasn't for Hatem's brilliance we wouldn't have got anything. Bereft of ideas. Everton (A)- A very lucky draw, we clung on as Everton squandered chances and the linesman saved us. Demba bailing Pardew out, again. Norwich (H)- Not convincing. We let Norwich come back into the game and decided to hang on to the win. Again, lucky. Reading (A)- Disjointed. One of the poorest teams in the league gave us the run around. Demba saving us with a great strike. mackems (A)- The only game where we've put in a performance. We were brilliant, organised and looked confident. Obviously being down to 10 men for 60mins was tough but we were so unlucky not to win. West Brom (H)- The luckiest win we'll ever get. West Brom we're weak in the first half, bar Lukaku. We could have finished them off but instead fell to pieces. Pure luck. Liverpool (A)- Decent performance, however we decided to try and see out the win with a half to go instead of attacking a weak Liverpool side. That's all the games this season in the league where we've come away with points. It's a miracle we got points from half of those games. It gets worse every week.

Wolves at home last season really cemented it for me that he just isn't up to it. We're still playing with the likes of Simpson and Williamson and it's holding us back massively, however that's more down to the people above Pardew. Still, no one else would be worse than either of those two, especially Williamson. As long as Ashley's here and we're floating around mid-table/10th-8th then he's not going anywhere.

For Gods sake shut up. Did last year not earn the bloke any sort of credit. It's been a shitty hangover esque season so far but there's no real justification for that bile after he took a recently promoted side to one game from the Chmpionship League places. Oh get a grip man, for god sake. I'm quite surprised you don't agree, considering you're one of the most negative people on this board! Oh wow, LAST SEASON we managed to wriggle our way into the top 5. Yeah, that was great I agree. But we did it playing shit football for 3/4's of the season and its carried over into this season and gotten worse. It's not a shitty hangover ffs. ALL SEASON we've been limping through games, I haven't seen us play one convincing game this season or where we've even attempted to play good football. We cling on and hoof the ball into the box and try and poke away the scraps. That's it, that's all we do. And that's all because of Pardew. He's had long enough to implicate his own theories and style of play, which, if he has, are abysmal. He's winging this. Don't give me that 'but last season we were brilliant' crap.

I cant wait for the day that this absolute clown leaves us. He's a terrible excuse for a manager. He brings an absolutely disgusting brand of football to this club. Give him till the end of the season and he can go fuck himself. Oh, wait, he's on an 8 year contract isn't he? Not going to happen. Unfortunately Mr. Ashley, your blind-hopefully stabs at success only last so long. Pardew actually made Fat Sam look good today. I'm sick of this bullshit.

  15. He's magic, Ya knooowww You'll never get past wor Stevooo!
  16. Imagine Nolan, Williamson and Simpson in the same team Signing Nolan will do nothing for us, especially with Carroll in the team. Our tactics will resort to what the were under Hughton; long & direct into AC and let Nolan feed off. It's inevitable. Yes, it worked at the time, but we didn't have Ba, Cisse, Ben Arfa, Cabaye, Santon...even Marveaux. All of them are best with the ball at their feet, especially the highlighted. It would be a criminal offence to neglect them for that old-school tactic- that's before we get to a striker inferior to what we have and a 30 year old huffing and puffing his way into the box. No way. I loved Nolan for what he did here, and he's benefited West Ham massively this season but look who his manager is- he builds the team around him. Signing Nolan would set us back massively, much more so than Carroll. I don't know why we put ourself in this position, it simply isn't worth it. Would the likes of Spurs, Everton, even Liverpool ever do this? Of course not, the move forward and build. Get a grip, Pards.
  17. One of my favourite ever players, sensational man. And this, tbh-
  18. Yes!! So pleased with that line up, even if it is 4-4-2. No Simpson or Williamson...what more can you ask for? (4-3-3...). Lets batter these filthy plastics cunts!
  19. Not too worried about Sterling, Dave will show him the inside and he'll run out of ideas from there.
