  1. Not sure where to put it, but who else thinks Zamora should be given a chance in the friendlies before the WC? 19 goals this year, I think? You can't knock that - I'd wager that's more than Heskey, Crouch, Agbonlahor and Cole.
  2. TBF - Berwick beat Rangers once in the 70s I think And didn't Inverness Callie beat Celtic too ? One of the greatest headlines I can remember in my lifetime.
  3. It's not like we didn't have a national stadium and decided to build it in London. We already had (maybe) the most famous one in the world there, only it was dying and needed updating. and it's not like if it needed redoing it couldn't have been done elsewhere ? It could have. Just noticed your reply to my other post, will have to agree to disagree, I don't agree with you at all. If a new SJP was built in Blyth or something people would eventually get used to it. Still be s*** though. the SJP argument doesnt wash. its a newcastle stadium...the england stadium would still be in england. Blyth's pretty much in Newcastle though... I was only fishing with that line I reckon it probably is arguable but I'm too tired to work it out properly. We won't agree on the England stadium so there's not that much point really, plus I think it's my bedtime. I'm happy to have another go another day if you fancy an itching post though. no probs. what a nice way to disagree though, no personal digs, no snide comments. Thoroughly disappointing for the audience, though.
  4. It's a big city with lots of people and stuff.
  5. I just knew fine well, upon needing Liverpool and Wolfsburg to win, and seeing Ronaldo had only Liverpool left to win, that last night was inevitable.
  6. This, Fulham through and the bindippers out would be a beautiful end to a fantastic footballing week. via 2 3-2 home wins, please.
  7. Got Liverpool and Wolfsburg as the final 2 in my 6-fold for midweek. Returns a mountainous £36 but here's hoping. 3-2 wins in both would be ideal.
  8. I'm sure someone will now prove me entirely wrong, but generally I've found Telegraph journalism to be thoughtful, balanced and thoroughly interesting to read.
  9. I liked it when that German journalist was on earlier around about 11am - it was as though SSN were taken aback by him saying "well, err, Munich were the better side over the 2 legs." NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
  10. Can anybody who happens to have watched more Wolves games this year tell me how Miljas has been getting on?

    Sunderland...

What's the difference between a better club, and being more successful? I'm failing to see the difference. I'd agree you are a bigger club than Fulham, yes.
  12. Aye, keeps my midweek one going. 3-2 to Liverpool and Wolfsburg tomorrow would be rather good.
  13. "Oh Wayne, how I yearn for thee."

    La Liga 09/10

So what are your predictions for Saturday? As much as it'd be funny to see it, I simply cannot see Barca go there and tear shit up. 2-2 or 3-2 either way.
  15. A 3-2 Liverpool win would be just lovely. Edit: and as such, given the state of the tie as a whole, either the either I win, or Liverpool go out, or both.

    Messi

Still Ronaldo for me. Fair enough. I'd love to see more of Ronaldo in his PSV and Barcelona days, like. I feel like I've only scratched the surface by seeing him during his late-Inter and Madrid seasons (and internationals).
  17. They are, yes, but I'm hoping Liverpool do it (I'll wash myself later) as they're part of my current 6-fold midweek accy. Man Utd, Pool and Wolfsburg to go.
  18. Good on Ferguson for fooling everyone (well, flat-out lying).

    Messi

People still go on about Maradona's "hand-of-god", but no fucker cares that Messi did the same thing when trying to steal the Spanish title a few years back. It's just selective blindness. I don't deny that he's beyond amazing on the ball, but it seems to blind people from his filthy cuntisms. Plural? I agree what he did against Espanyol (I think?) was absolutely wrong, but I just don't see this constant streak of behaviour in him. I'm open to being proved wrong on that count.

    Messi

I must be watching a different team. I've barely seen Messi do any of the stuff people are on about. The odd occasion, aye, but not to warrant such full-blown slating.
  21. Anyone up for some Park Ji-Sung bingo tonight? Vital points include anytime we hear that: He has a good work rate He is "industrious" He's the first name on the team sheet for these big games He's an underrated player He may not be technically gifted but he is vital for Man Utd Feel free to add more.
  22. But aye, with this current crop of spiteful articles around, I'd just try and be pleased more than anything that you've clearly got under some journo-skins and seemingly, they can't bear to see you breeze straight back into the Premier League.
