Leighton has played his way into the first XI.
  2. The Prophet will be particularly pleased.
  3. Didn't fancy putting much on tonight so just had a few audacious ones: £1 on Zidan first scorer @ 12/1 Rooney FGS and 2-1, 50p @ 28/1 Gerrard FGS and 3-1, 50p @ 45/1 £1 on England draw, Scotland draw, Wales win £2 on Albania, Germany, Switzerland and Holland
  4. who? uruguayan international that signed for stoke in the summer 16th in League 1 as well. I`m sure having South American coaches in Gustavo Poyet and Taricco there helped a great deal Uruguayan international. He should theoretically piss all over League One. Bet he wished he'd stopped in Uruguay playing for Nacional. Probably f***ed up his chances of going to the WC. Almost certainly. He has Gargano, Eguren and Diego Perez ahead of him as defensive midfielders. Strange really, why have Stoke signed him for big cash and not played him at all? He's 22, an age where he should be playing really. It's probably because he has some footballing ability - seen as witchcraft in the Stoke dressing room. It probably is that actually. Nasty Stoke, boo hiss.
  5. A win's a win at the end of the day, £17 profit, gives me something to play with tomorrow/at the weekend. Stops a bad run.
  6. Montrose down to 10, Messi. Wow, Southampton 5-0 Huddersfield.
  7. Poor. They forgot to get a 2nd goal before conceding 3.
  8. aye Darlo are doing me over, never a fan of backing away teams as a rule though. Same, decided to on this occasion with it being bloody Darlo. How silly I was. There's a start for you. Darlo must have realised they were in danger of winning. Edit: and there we are, a most inevitable comeback is complete. Particularly speedy though, even by Darlo's lofty standards.
  9. Hardly deserve a tag of "absolutely shite". Pretty obvious but goals are their problem, 12 in 10 qualifying games. Still a hard team to beat.
  10. Hopefully results will stay the same re: Aldershot and Southampton but I'd have that feeling of "why didn't I do more?" Was interested in Bristol Rovers, Notts Co and Rochdale but didn't put them on. All winning.
  11. We seem to play much better against the better sides. We have the ability to play some cracking stuff, but we take the easy option far too often of booting it up to Saha (mind you his hold up play and control is usually excellent).
  12. Not just saying it because I want them to stay up - don't bet against Darlo when they're at home atm. Having some funny old results; mind you if their last home game is anything to go by, you have every chance still.
  13. Not anymore. Personally, not sure why I didn't snap up Notts County (probably the fact they were 2/5 at home to a Macclesfield team who get a fair amount of away draws) and Rochdale at 5/6. Howay Aldershot.
  14. £5 on Southampton and Aldershot. I did have Inverness, didn't realise it had been postponed. Update: whenever you back Southampton, you may as well back Lambert to score as well.
  15. They get excellent prices for the players they sell. Worth re-emphasising it's a revenue list. No mention of costs, as such, profits.
  16. Would never have doubted your revenue would still be amongst the highest in the world.
  17. Our injuries have probably been worse than your injuries though. In all seriousness, losing Huddlestone will be a blow. Always impressed me, in fact iirc there was a time about 18 months ago when he was close to leaving, was desperate for us to bid for him at that point.
  18. The increasing inevitability of the RS getting 4th does indeed speak volumes about the quality of the "best league in the world". Man City's away record for example - isn't it something horrendous like 1 win in 10? Begs the old question, is it the rest of the league getting more competitive, or just plain shite?
  19. Howay brum, get that previous comment back. It was entertaining without going overboard. I think, anyway.

There's not much to choose between them but Baines has got better technique and is better going forward imo. Warnock is a bit more solid defensively and a fair bit taller. Depends what type of fullback you want really. Yep. I am of course biased and would love to see Baines go and play, but I appreciate that opposition teams would probably see him as a relative weakness and would seek to attack that side as much as possible. Decent sides, I mean.
  21. Hughtons Premiership record as Tottinghams manager - Won 3 Drew 2 Lost 1 Ah, I should have known. 5 year contract it is!
  22. Can't see them winning any of the 3 away games at the moment.
  23. His experience in the Premier League previously doesn't mean it'll go the same way. If (when) you go up, surely the confidence levels from storming the Championship will be much higher than a disillusioned bunch of wasters slipping further down and down the Premier League last year? It isn't all perfect but I honestly don't think you need much more to survive next year. Hughton is still relatively inexperienced being in charge of a club but he's learning. Give him a chance.
  24. Forgot to mention Henderson - he looks like he'll be a quality player. Bad luck with the injury but if he continues to develop well after he gets back, he'll be U21 material (if he isn't already) before long and after that, we'll see.
  25. Their midfield has been inadequate in every sense. They offer little creativity (Malbranque has bordered on invisible, Reid has offered little apart from a couple of impressive performances), and defensively, if Cattermole/Cana don't click (which, barring a few games, they haven't), an average defence is horribly exposed. And now Bent has stopped scoring all their goals (partly down to the hopeless lack of service), they are being shown up for what they are. Mid-table side with confidence but, for larger spells, a side lacking confidence, quality and mental toughness - i.e. a dark horse for relegation. Still think they'll stay up. Just.
