  1. Fair. For me, the reaction to the Sunderland result was understandable, while overall it's been a pretty average season. At the same time, I would give Howe next season because I believe he's earned it and more importantly he can turn it around.
  2. But we can accept this season is below par and not the desired target, whilst not making any knee-jerk decisions.
  3. I'm not sure why you'd give any weight to someone spit balling on Red Cafe.
  4. Also I doubt Tino is fully fit.
  5. While I agree Edward is a bit of a control freak, I'm not sure he has or wants the level of authority that some fans think that he has regarding transfers. Howe has consistently spoken of a collaborative approach and not being hugely involved in talent ID or the financial aspects of a transfer. He's also worked with Richard Hughes and Dan Ashworth and by all accounts got along well with both. The evidence doesn't point to him wanting a huge amount of control in this area, I'm not really sure where it comes from.
  6. Aye, I've got no issues with folks expressing their discontent on Sunday, but I just find the idea of booing very childish. Boo yourself in the mirror and you'll see what I mean
  7. NUFC fans: PIF are too hands off. Also NUFC fans: Why are PIF bidding for Premier League cast offs again?
  8. They do, not I'm not really sure why it's relevant to the point.
  9. Yep, he's tried absolutely loads of variations and usually has a tailor-made plan for the opposition.
  10. That's not the norm though.
  11. Not for me like. Almost all managers will want input as part of a transfer committee, plenty will want final say as ultimately it is them that will utilise the player. Up until the summer, our incoming business was impeccable, so Howe's input obviously isn't detrimental. He obviously has to take some accountability for last summer, but he was forced into de facto Sporting Director role, a position he should never have been in. That won't be the norm going forward and seems like a harsh stick to best him with, even if he's not completely blameless.
  12. I do agree that we need some form of PIF presence at the club, it doesn't even have to be a full time employee. How come Howe's role needs to be adjusted though?
  13. Folk aware aware that Andy Howe reports into Steve Nickson, who reports into Ross Wilson right? I struggle with who's doing satire and who isn't these days.
  14. I think they're completely different characters. I'm not naive enough to think that money can't talk, but I think him and his family do genuinely love the area and the club. He's spoken about his next move potentially being back to Brazil. Man United have been a basket case until the last few months and don't even have a permanent manager at this point. While they have more chance of delivering a major trophy than we do, they don't have the prestige or guarantee of success that say Real Madrid do.
  15. It was Globo in Brazil who broke our original bid I believe. Bruno to Man United just feels like a complete non-starter.
  16. They had a pretty middling league season too until the final straight. Granted they did it by operating the loan market better than we ever have.
  17. ...and we should have got top five by beating Everton, but we didn't. Shit happens.
  18. Aren't we well up the charts in terms of chopping and changing the starting eleven? It feels like we've rotated pretty well, whenever we've been able to.
  19. Same, it was excruciating Although it didn't come close to the last five minutes of the cup final, we never make it easy for ourselves.
  20. Nah, they were absolutely bobbins that day. I had it on the other screen and they just didn't show up, same as us v Everton.
  21. "I'm not your mate" Classic
  22. The next three weeks are going to be class.
  23. I find that they're a nice tonic to the usual gaggle of tedious cunts.
