Objectively this is horse scrotum. During 22/23, we were the best high pressing team in the league. Our defense was superb, with Botman's reading of the game and passing range a key reason we could play so high up the pitch. The defensive line was aggressive and kept us compact. Would playing next to someone with recovery pace help him? Sure, but his lack of athleticism was never an issue.

He's stepped into the captaincy role massively. It's feels like he's carried us at times this season. Legend.

He had a good game. Was pulling the CBs out of position all game and had Thiaw absolutely rattled. He always had that in his locker though, he's just a bit of a sick note.

The whole attacking unit is just very disjointed. Both Woltemade and Wissa have received poor service, particularly from the wingers. It doesn't help that they start so deep and wide. Woltamade needs to learn to use his frame (an issue he's always had, but improving at) and improve at attacking the eighteen yard box. It's all very fixable though, there were similar discussions about Isak in his first sesson.

After peeling myself off the ceiling from a late comeback win, one of my first thoughts was to fire up the Woltamade thread and talk up the merits of selling our £70 million striker, who's been one of our better players this season.
