Newcastle United 2-0 Crystal Palace (04/01/26) | post-match from pg. 43

Ah yes, his shoulder was off, giving him an enormous advantage. -
I'd argue the same about Schar. I know we can all be guilty of hyperbole on here, but he had some absolute stinkers last season. Same for Botman this term I guess.
-
I though him and Thiaw looked really good at the start of the season.

I can't think if many home games where we've lacked creativity this season. Wolves and Arsenal earlier on perhaps? -

Palace have looked really fatigued of late, that additional two days rest over the festive period could count for a lot. They're a good side and I don't think we'll batter them, but out superior squad depth should see us through here. -
Careful Lewis, no one is immune from the collective sigh of the home faithful.
-
Why did it go to the refs call?
-
What was that goal disallowed for in the Atlanta game? Bemusing with no commentary.
-
Dreadful source, but imagine the puns.
-
After Ashworth, we've had no one, Mitchell, then no one again. It's not exactly a high bar to be considered our best SD. He fucking loved wheels too.
-
Is that another Villa long ranger?
-
-
Nah, it'd be pretty mad.
-
All the more reason to think they might not sustain it.
-
They've done far better than expected, but still expect them to revert to the mean and finish bottom half.
-
...but we're going to miss at some point, it's inevitable. It's more about minimising them than prevent them all together. Granted I don't think there's many players Howe won't get a tune from given enough time on the training ground.

From today: “We have lots of ways of playing, but within the structure and the principles of what we believe in. I see countless managers asked about Plan Bs, but you have to be careful. We have a very strong plan for every situation, we just need to deliver it better.”
-
Spurs fans aren't happy with him. Can't say I've taken too much notice myself, but apparently he's quite lazy and takes far too long to release the ball when he's in possession.

We paid what you'd expect in the current market... Bynoe- Gittens went for £52 million. Kudus went for £55 million. Madueke went for £52 million. Monaco were allegedly quoting £60 million plus for Akliouche. The market inflation is mental.

Not an original observation, but Xhaka is having a good season.
-
PIF should have put an interim in charge to see us over the summer period, it was reckless not to do so, but an interim CEO wouldn't be making any major calls.
-
I forgot form doesn't exist on NO, my bad.

...and the point still stands. Look at us under Pards. The acid test will be how they react after a couple of poor results.
