  1. I'd probably say I have a second team in Leyton Orient. It might be a factor of growing up in London - there are likely to be multiple serious clubs in your neighborhood that end up being rivals but multiple others that never (or barely ever) cross paths with yours so they are sort of like younger brothers. Dad and I are Spurs fans but if they weren't playing or we couldn't get to an away game we'd just get a number 34 bus to the O's. They're rooted in the community my Dad's side of the family grew up in - he was born on the outskirts of Clapton and way back when (originally?) they were called Clapton Orient. My best mate at Primary school was an Orient fan (after his Dad) and they'd take me to away games occasionally too. Obviously if it was Spurs v Orient I'd want Spurs to annihilate them, but I'd want Orient to win just about any other match they play. I still go occasionally and was gutted when they lost in the playoffs, but it helped that they had a couple of Spurs loanees.
  2. We've been discussing all this at length. Apparently Arsenal exploited some loophole to make Saliba CT to do with his registration while on loan - that loophole has since been closed. The loan thing is a pain but also a good thing depending upon your perspective. I just end up asking somebody else if a player is eligible. My understanding is that loan seasons don't count towards your CT status. We've been annoyed at the club for letting the squad stuff slide, it's reassuring to know you're in a similar boat. You've named a squad of 21 and 2 keepers with Miley and Hall (and others?) on the B-list. We've named a squad of 22 with 3 keepers, but nobody really significant on the B-list. Gray and Bergvall go on the B-list next year.
  3. Not going to engage with any of the rest of that but are you talking about multiclub ownership or having another team that you support, albeit to a lesser degree?
  4. Just curious - Miley and Hall on your B-list, anyone else of note? Edit: Also who are your club-trained guys?
  5. Speaking as a fan of a London club to a fan of Newcastle United, I'm not sure you've thought this through
  6. Strasbourg again though. Dodgy as fuck once again.
  7. He’s been really good when not injured. Barely got injured at all before coming to us, naturally. It looks like this ankle is a long term thing maybe needing surgery and you know Richarlison will get injured playing for Brazil and be out for months, so we have to get somebody in.
  8. I just think some refs are shit, and some refs are also cowards and favour the bigger sides. I don’t think it’s just the “Big 6”, there’s a home bias too.
  9. This game is taking the piss, but it’s still generally incompetence: https://www.espn.co.uk/football/story/_/id/45340176/every-premier-league-var-error-ranking-winners-losers-referee-stats-2024-25
  10. Almost funny - saw the goal update on the BBC website then quickly checked something else online. When I got back on here it said 40+ new posts. I immediately guessed the goal had been ruled out through VAR for a stupid reason. Bingo.
  11. Not sure they’ve got lots of headroom right now, thought that was one of the reasons they hadn’t got Simons already. Feel like I read somewhere it was a UEFA thing?
  12. Just came on to say this - was posted on a Spurs forum. Kind of mental.
  13. Ange beat Man U 4 times last season

Yeah those snobby bastards from *checks notes* Huddersfield.
  15. Yup, we said all along the squad is pretty good. Just frustrating that Madders and Kulu are out for so long and Arsenal keep nicking our prospective players. We’re maybe a couple of signings away from a very good season.
  16. Is top 8 likely to get into Europe this year? Genuine question. I completely forgot Antony was still there too - wow, that is a lot of dead money. Presuming Garnacho goes to Blueco, what’s the remaining contract on Sancho and Antony?
  17. I’d have agreed with you, but that post-match interview was really something. Did not expect that at all. He seemed defeated in the bigger sense.

    Why are they not pitch-side?
  19. I mean, we’ve met a transfer clause and still not got the player, and we’ve failed to get in all our transfer targets bar one thanks in part to our local rivals deciding trolling us was better than having an actual transfer policy of their own. Wouldn’t say we’ve nailed it . Hiring Thomas the Frank Engine and managing to get most of his staff in was the bit that mattered though, as you say.
  20. This. Thomas Frank has already said how impressed he was by the togetherness of the squad here. A genuine tribute to Ange, plus winning a trophy - but we were concerned that losing Son and sacking Ange might be problematic. It just doesn’t look to have turned out that way, which makes his job all the easier. I dunno. Lest we forget, Man U were the better side against Arsenal and the Fulham game shows that officials will still be happy to help them out. Home to Burnley should be a nice tonic. Fail to win that though, and they’ve got Man City and Chelsea next up. Could be the coup de grace.
  21. Definitely Man U. Kairat were well-organized and played for penalties from basically minute one of the first leg. It’s really difficult to break a well-organized low block down, plus they were happy to use every time-wasting trick in the book. Man U - well they were outplayed for significant periods, are somehow still doing the “stick the big man up front and lump it” tactic and managed to blow one of their two chances for silverware. It’s been some window. We’ve been bewildered and angry at the contrast between the losing Europa Final team going out and spending a fortune despite not (yet) recouping any money, while we get one guy in for less then any of Sesko, Mbuemo and Cunha, lose our talisman and captain and have Arsenal decide to just buy anyone we want. Yet…who actually got better?
  22. Guess I’ll trawl Reddit for some Mark Goldbridge.
  23. Favours jobs for the boys. How about chairmen?
  24. Didn’t even prove that tbf.
