Was that Marco Silva giving Hürzeler some stick after the equalizer? Or just the camera angle?
-
Just to clarify, there are only a handful of Cockney clubs. Four and arguably five are League teams. West Ham, Millwall, Leyton Orient and Charlton Athletic. Arsenal used to be Cockney but got jealous of Spurs in North London and ran away to make money. Spurs are borderline Cockney because our catchment area overlaps (my Dad and his family were Cockney). Chelsea are very much not Cockney.

Literally killed dozens of people and we all got banned.

Genuinely interested in a breakdown of transfer fees received from the Saudi League per club.
-
Did they have a planned racism for the 32nd minute?
-
We need to work out a way to confront it - like sides against the Haka. A synchronised moon would be nice if it didn’t get everyone arrested. Turning our backs on the pitch?
-
There’s a chance. Not being in Europe is huge, and there’s a good few teams that will take points off each other. I’ve got Man U in the top five and the European teams outside the top four in 6-12
-
Oh yeah, forgot that, had stopped caring about the league at that point. Disappointed to see Stifler is a fan of this approach, thought he was an upstanding citizen.
-
Missed this, what were their actual breaches?
-
Yeah, like I say above I think it might be a slog for teams in Europe outside the top four unless we all reinforce considerably in the next couple of weeks.
-
Yeah. I posted on a Spurs forum somewhere my expectations for this year. It feels like the top four have strengthened well and Man U don’t have Europe, so I’ve got them pencilled in as the top five. Then it’s you guys, Villa, Forest, Palace and us with decent squads and Europe who I have pencilled into the next five. Probably see one or two of those drop down and a couple step up. If we don’t get Savinho or Eze but get one more guy in I think we’re bottom half. If we get one of those two and A.N.Other it’s 8-10. If we get both it’s 6-8 and the knockout stages of the CL.

He’s been injured most of the pre-season. Might not risk him at all tonight if he can avoid it. Ankle injury.
-
And two forwards for us. This will not be fun
-
I think it’s perfectly reasonable to complain tbh
-
Harry Cake I reckon, although Franz Baconbauer is nice
-
As long as they’re fit, VDV and Romero will be the first option at CB. Frank has been playing Sarr there a bit, mainly because of injuries. I don’t think it’s a viable long-term plan tbh. Sarr can run and run, but I’m not sure he has the creativity or nous to be #10.

You couldn’t if you tried . Not in my mind anyway. It is what it is.
-
He’s not small, he was just asked to do a very specific job by Ange and did one part of it very well. It’s just not clear yet how good he will be doing anything else.
-
Yeah, that particular gap’s been big for a long time. The one big change is how strong the rest of the PL is in relation to other European leagues.
-
The top four or five teams are going to be broadly similar because they’ll largely be from the same leagues (England, Spain, Italy). It’s the depth where it tells. Apart from a far more taxing first section, Man U faced Real Sociedad, Lyon, Athletic Bilbao and us in the knockout rounds. Chelsea faced Copenhagen, Legia Warsaw, Djurgardens and Real Betis. That’s a pretty big step down in quality.

Kulusevski has a long term injury and may be out until next year. It’s not clear where he’d play either - Frank may view him as a #10, particularly since Maddison is also out until next year and possibly next season. Johnson is a weird one. Simplistically, he scores a ton of goals but doesn’t really do much else. As Flav said on a recent Fighting Cock podcast after a Wales game - if you’d just watched that you’d think he was incredible. Trouble is, we’ve seen him week in and week out being underwhelming in all but scoring goals. I feel like every team I played in as a kid had somebody like him, good technique, fit, fast, just didn’t know the right thing to do in any given moment and needed their Dad to talk them through the game. Frank apparently really wanted him so we’ll see. There’s a theory he will end up as an out-and-out forward. Either way, Porro and Kudus are nailed-on (and VDV and Romero if they’re fit) - it’s only every single other position on the pitch that’s a bit up in the air.
-
Porro and Kudus. It’s probably the one thing we do know
-
I feel like it’s bad to give even the tiniest little shit about the game tbh.
