Nice draw. Don't think we've played any of them in qualifying for a while. We'll finish comfortably ahead of the rest, with Switzerland edging out Bulgaria for second.

Ketsbaia is Georgia manager now? Nice to hear he got straight back into a job after that joke of a sacking from Olympiakos.
-
If Lovenkrands had played as many games upfront as he should have, he'd be well clear. Now I think Hughton is beginning to realise his value to the team more he'll finish as our top scorer.

Shit, Football League Show. Telly off.

Great wrasping volley for the 5th though.

Okocha is just about the most ridiculously skillful player I've ever seen. Some of the stuff he could do with a football were incredible, often unneccesary, but still incredible. Beyond the tricks there wasn't enough of the important stuff to make him a great player though.

Big numbers are funny. I have a Cassano shirt with 99 on the back.

Will he be eligible for the U18s? And if so, would he be involved?

Sky announced the KO as 8:00 according to my mate, so a canny few people stayed in the pubs a bit longer and missed 2/3 goals. -
Gotta say this sounded superb, especially when it was sustained for ages. Definitely better than the 'fat cockney bastard' chant, it's positive aswell as being defiant

At the end of the day: 4-4-2 2 natural wingers No defensive midfielders There should be no fucking surprise as to how well we played, please stick with this Hughton! All in all though I'm absolutely over the moon Routledge was worth signing purely for the party tricks -

A marked upgrade on the lack of absolutely anything in a Butt/Smith partnership though -
Has Cassano been mentioned btw? He was the first player that came to mind when I saw this thread. EDIT: Previous page, doh.

Yeah, born in Denmark though. Man City's current 3rd keeper Gunnar Nielsen is Faroese.

I could be a full international for the Faroe Islands. No you couldn't. Ok, I would need a fake passport. As well as some Footballing ability. Faroe Islands is less populated than the neighborhood I grew in, and I probably was the best goalie in my neighborhood (my team won the local championship twice). Not an exageration of my footballing qualities, it's just a very small pond. But hope he turns out to be the one-in-a-million talent that place produces. Massimo Bonini was from San Marino, and he was a key player for Juventus winning Serie A, European Cup etc. So it can happen I guess. tbf San Marino isn't a small island populated with sheep in the middle of the ocean, though. True

Don't really know, but a quick Wiki search shows quite a few of them end up playing in Denmark. Makes sense when you consider Faroe Islands is a Danish constituent territory.

Yeah he's been playing quite well for Braga this season, who I believe are still top in Portugal.

We had 2 Faroese on trial didn't we? I think 1 had been released by another club's youth team though, while this guy has came straight from Faroese football. Meh it's a punt with next to no risk involved - will probably just disappear in a couple of years, but then maybe not. http://www.national-football-teams.com/v2/player.php?id=35046

Just give it to our best player, Rooney. The role of captain is purely an ambassadorial position in football anyway - an on form, fired up Rooney leading the team out as captain could set fear into the opposition. France did a similar thing with Platini. (Not that it got them anywhere like )

Eboue is literally the stupidest footballer I've ever seen.

vuckic started making his way towards the squad and has been injured since. In the couple of games he played our midfield got pretty much over run IIRC. Don't know if that was him or other younger midfielders like Guthrie and Lua Lua. Having a bunch of kids in defence probably didn't help either tbf. only started one first team game hasn't he.....posh in the league cup in a stiffs side. I think he started one and came on as a sub in another. My impression of him was that he looked great going forward, not so good tracking back. thats why he's not really a central midfielder. more of a play off a centre forward in the hole type. Well there's room for one of those in the team as well. Nolan's been impersonating that role and if his half-arsed efforts are worth a first team shirt why not Vukic? He'd have probably have been given a chance, but like said he's been injured for ages now. Was meant to be nearing a return soon, he's been out since just after that Posh game I believe. I was at that P'boro game and he had a horrible time of it, looked overawed by the whole thing. It didn't help that the team was a mish mash of backups and reserves, with players out of position everywhere. Not really the best game for a youngster to be judged on, but even less so a player of his ilk (ie the arcehtypal #10, allergic to defensive duties).
