Barnet and surrounding area has a ludicrous amount of green space for an area inside the M25 and on the tube tbh, should have had green belt released and thousands more houses built around there years ago (stadium arguments aside and whether this is the right location for it or not).

If you watch the Blackpool highlights he looks like a goalscoring #10, good dribbling and skillful on the half turn, some excellent long range strikes. Then when he made his debut for us he was a totally different player - playing deeper and being compared more to Carrick for his passing range. Definitely his career and development went entirely to shit under Bruce (as well as his own mental health) until Eddie resurrected him again; turning him into a high energy box-to-box #8 that contributed a lot to those first two full seasons of Howeball. Just weird that if you watch those different spells of his career it really is like three different players.

Got most of his goals for us so might as well post it. Always a bit weird seeing his Blackpool highlights, different level obviously, but he looks an entirely different player to what he did both for us under Rafa at the start and what he turned into eventually under Howe.

If we're changing system I don't think we'll necessarily sign a direct replacement tbh. If you're not wedded to 4-3-3 and have more forward options then you don't necessarily need 6 midfielders. I think the club long term might see Lewis Hall as a midfield option, with Livramento proving so adept on that side as well. Also depends on the CB signing. Scalvini has genuinely played as a DM before. If Willock goes too we'd definitely move for a big midfield signing, but wouldn't be so convinced on immediately replacing Longstaff.

It's a bit of a shit deal (I think around 15 is closer to his value) but we can't afford to allow PSR cash cow to pass by with him out of contract next year. I presume if we dragged it out longer we risked Leeds moving onto other targets so have had to bite the bullet.

Unfortunately I think we can see where it's going now - and was always a good chance that would be the case. People need to stop getting into a huff about 'being played' or whatever when we get beaten to players. We're going for top quality players for huge money that other big clubs also want. But I'd rather we were trying to do that than settling for a lower pool.

They also went in big on Wirtz early on which has left them relying on sales in other areas. I think he'll be a great player for them but it definitely had hamstrung their flexibility in the market a bit.

Liverpool need a striker but they need to shift players to fund it. So far Nunez hasn't looked like going to Saudi and it appears the Napoli move has fallen through with them going for cheaper options in Lucca. Diaz move has also yet to come through. The tragedy around Jota, as awful as it is to say, has added to this. I think they want Ekitike personally but don't currently have the freedom in the market to move unless they were to take risks on selling after they've already bought. This seems to be a bit of a power play against us - I'd be amazed if they actually went up to what we'd ask for (£150 million+). We'll see. Honestly I think whatever happens we're in a pretty strong position. Unfortunately a big sale is definitely coming down the track at some point.

I went the other week for their friendly against Whickham, double header with a first visit to The Stanks in the evening. It's a nice little ground and pleasant place as well. The little free museum in the town had a programme from the game vs Ardiles' NUFC.
