  1. He's been playing as a support striker behind the other lad though, and they've been banging them in between them. 8 goals (4 assists) in 13 this season isn't bad anyway. I'm still glad we didn't sign him, as pretty sure we'd have not got Isak, but you can see he's got a lot of ability now he's gone to the right kind of club to play for.
  2. Ffs I turned it off about a minute before
  3. He's looked really good for Frankfurt this season though. Obviously helped by playing every week and in a league where he gets space and time, but definitely looks a player. You can see we knew what we were doing going for him.

    Lewis Hall

Speaking very well on his interview with TNT now
  5. Great win. Had very little hope today, must be said, so that feels like a bonus.
  6. We played OK on Wednesday but it was Chelsea's reserves. I don't think you can make conclusions on form of players from that game tbh.
  7. Rodri is obviously an exceptional footballer but I still think it reflects pretty negatively on the level of football as of right now, in terms of what you would consider to be superstar talent, that he's Ballon D'or winner and it isn't really questionable.
  8. Hate to say it but I agree.
  9. The fact we had to sell Anderson is an absolute shitter. If the fee for the Greek keeper is anywhere near as daft as reported we've probably been mugged as well.
  10. 6-0 for Whitley today, wish I'd gone along instead of watching that shite on a stream. Seems like the team might be clicking after a poor start.
  11. First half we were OK. Second half was abysmal.
  12. Late subs were absolutely pointless and a bit bizarre
  13. Lovely views from that ground as well
  14. Yeah you can always just send off for the last few. I did that for all the ones I've completed
  15. This was painfully predictable from day 1. Blyth Town 2nd in the Northern League. Could be in the same division as each other next year.
  16. Yep, this is it. But I don't think people realise how difficult a lot of old buildings are to adapt to new uses. Retail demands changed so dramatically in a short space of time - and most of that demolished wasn't usable for what people wanted. Same story with the old city hall and the new civic centre - the old city hall was completely unfit for purpose (not that it necessarily should have been knocked down). Ultimately cities do need to be vehicles for the economy and society more than they do museum pieces - it is a balance. In hindsight some form of facadism might have been a good compromise to retaining the historic appearance of old Eldon Square - but it would have been far more expensive I would say. And that option certainly wasn't in vogue at the time.
  17. Similar to with us but LCM and in a 3-5-2. Ricci as the deepest midfielder.
  18. He has looked good for Italy. They've landed onto something now with him, Ricci and Barella when he's back as a three. Hope he can show similar for us.
  19. Cities also have to adapt move with the times. It's easy to look at Eldon Square in hindsight as architectural vandalism (and I'm certainly sympathetic to this viewpoint) but it satiated the type of retail demand that existed at the time and for the next 40 or so years.
  20. But beauty is not really definable as it will always be a point of subjectivity, despite what the currently in-vogue traditionalist think tanks would have you believe. It's why the attempts to enshrine it into planning legislation have been so ham fisted. I always think good placemaking comes more from building heights/street width, use and quality of the space in between the buildings, the quality of landscaping and the mix of uses - more than it does the type of material used to clad a building or any specific architectural detailing. This is has been the biggest failing in UK cities over last 70 years, moreso than you lot value engineering everything
  21. Only Bolivia at home obviously but Messi highlights last night are ridiculous. Hattrick and 2 assists at 37
