  1. Gary Neville has spoken really well on this, as has Carragher. It just struck me though, if Project Big Picture had been waved through then the six clubs could have presumably implemented this without consequences, and anything else they wanted for that matter. Was so short sighted of Neville to publicly back that proposal when it would have left English football with no power in these situations.
  2. Been pure lurking on this thread for 36 hours now without saying owt, been a canny read and I'm gripped by all of this honestly. There is some twisted satisfaction in seeing it all burn after having the piss ripped out of us as fans of the game for so long. My emptiness towards NUFC has only been growing over recent years so it's nice to finally feel something. The most striking thing for me is the odd comment or inside detail that slips out from any of the vultures responsible for all of this, and how utterly disgusting their attitude towards the world around them is. Such obnoxious views about traditions, communities and history that they don't care about or try to understand. All they want to do is capitalise on it. Football has been on the road to this grotesque mirror image of capitalism gone wild for a long time now but this just takes that sickly feeling you get as a fan to a whole new level. This is much bigger than football - increasingly I'm looking at the world around me exasperated at the inequality, the unfairness and the greed. Good people are being fucked over left, right and centre by billionaire psychopaths and us plebs are at each others throats fighting for the scraps. Money poisons everything and it seems there's no escape from that fact, not even in the sport you used to always be able to rely on for your escapism. If the backlash to this can bring people together then great but I think we've unfortunately all been too nice about this for far too long now and the ship has probably already sailed.
  3. ASM sold the cameraman with the dummy for his goal there
  4. Aye I did the mic one, Pilko sounds right for the other one
  5. Swansea should probably stop abusing people on Twitter full stop tbh, stopping it for seven days is a bit of a piss take.
  6. The most pigheaded, ridiculous and nonsensical decision would be to keep him on, so you'd assume that's what will happen aye.
  7. Definitely want to see both finish in the top 4, although I'll obvs be a bit jealous. Don't particularly like West Ham as a club myself but met a fair few of their fans and they're generally canny lads compared to Spurs/Arsenal/Chelsea fans. And they've been through a right load of bullshit over the years as a fanbase, which we can relate to but they've actually had fuck-all to shout about other than the odd cult hero like Di Canio etc.
  8. Hopefully we'll see positives in the performance though.
  9. He'll be chuffed that some people are talking about him, since that's all he's ever after.
  10. https://www.football365.com/news/rio-ferdinand-sick-newcastle-mike-ashley-complaints He also says the below in the same piece. Yes Rio, everything you're saying is due to Ashley's neglect of the club and is one of the big reasons the tight fucker gets criticised, criticism you're saying you're bored of hearing. Thick wum. “That’s my biggest point with Newcastle, like, they’ve got that area locked off, all of the north east is basically Newcastle’s because Middlesbrough aren’t in the Premier League, Darlington etc are not in the Premier League. So they have first dibs on all of the talent in the north east. “Why have they not nurtured more more players into that first team? I don’t get it. “Whether it is investment, or the quality of that the structure of that process at the club isn’t right. “If I was a Geordie, if I was a Newcastle fan, that’s where I would be shouting and pointing my finger. “Not enough has been done with the talent that must be kicking around in Newcastle. It’s impossible to think there aren’t more [good local players who should have been developed].
  11. Presumably he thinks the same when Man Utd fans complain about the Glazers.
  12. Name: CalmintheChaos / County Durham Mag / tubes / whatever Hobbies: preaching at choirs
  13. On here it was Patiently awaiting a cupcake dog banner now
  14. RIP Remember my dad showing me this goal saying it was one of his favourite he'd seen when he was younger:
  15. The floor for wages in the Premier League is too high now, so for years you've had this carousel of crap where PFMs go from one lower half club to the next, rinsing each and every one of them while being hailed for their courage, loyalty and integrity in the media.
  16. Every time they say this makes me laugh at our impending relegation even more. Fuck these people.
  17. This cunt accumulated another P45 to add to his massive collection yet?
