It's too early to be wetting my pants but we still can't attract the 'best of the rest' in the premier league. They are hoovered up by the financial top 6 clubs. Not sure where that leaves us. Probably looking at the next level or 2 below that in the Premier League to secure players. It's grim reality if it comes to pass.

First off, I understand Eddie Improves 99% of players through the door. But for any player costing 50m, I'd prefer them to be closer to the finished product, over needing Howe to drag them up to the standard of a 50m player.

The pool of keepers in world footy is obviously smaller than outfield players, so if the club really like one now (Trafford or whoever) then I reckon go for it asap. Next summer there won't magically be a new group of regen keepers to pick from, it'll be the similar list of keepers to now or potentially worse - especially if Eddie is leaning UK based experience. Just get Trafford. Keep him for 10 years.

I know! Bad Rumour was that the player had chosen Newcastle as his destination. I don't know whether or not we showed interest.

I'm not a spreadsheet wanker. But I don't think the purpose of not spending in 3 windows was to build up to a big allowance. It was to balance the overspending we did. So I think the idea that we can spend massive just because we never spent for 3 windows, might not be correct. But as I say, I know fuck all about PSR.

I always thought it'd be more around 120m (with longstaff sale). How many times have a team spent $250 in a window? seems doubtful.

Our transfer window just got even more interesting. With Mitchell and Howe working together, I was expecting a mix of incomings in terms of value. Will we continue with players around the 40m mark like we have in the past. Do we go for unearthing gems. Will it be a mix? Eddie's request to be quick in the market, doesn't make sense given how long we fucked about with Guehi. Was that Mitchell? Guess we'll find out.
