  1. Barnetta does not mean hair in Italian. The Italian for hair: Capello. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_0oGzCvzVvFY/TGOzBP3TfrI/AAAAAAAAAkQ/bNPZqbZAyhc/s1600/capello.jpg Although that is a singular hair. If you want to talk about all the hairs on your head, that would be "capelli".
  2. I love dome news. I hope it's Richard O'Brien related.
  3. 1. Who says we have to choose? Replacement for Nolan (eventually) surely? 2. Eccentric, perhaps. Not troubled. Certainly nowhere near as bad as Barton and he's come good. 3. Your opinion. Fair enough.
  4. Wouldn't be totally opposed to signing Ireland. Maybe a little apprehensive. Not so much because he's "crazy" as 1) I haven't seen too much evidence of it 2) would you have turned down Gazza in his prime? I'm more worried that he won't be able to recapture the form he had at City. Does Pardew have a history of getting the best out of players? Not so sure. If Hughton was still in charge then I'd have had no such worries. That said, the team spirit is still good at the moment. Providing he gets on with the rest of the lads I don't see why he couldn't get back to his best.
  5. Haven't seen much of him but he looked shite when we beat them at the Bridge.
  6. Always rated Camoranesi, tbh. Ugly fuck, mind. Even coming off the bench the last couple of years he's looked decent. Would have loved to have signed him at his peek but obviously not worth looking at now. Haven't watched much Italian (or German!) football recently, but his lack of game time means he probably isn't up to playing week in week out and he'd be quite expensive to have as a squad player.
  7. Can't really argue with that. We're scoring. It's not the weakest area of the team. We need cover for left back and the wings.
  8. Since when does the law apply to football clubs?
  9. This x 1000. I'd kill for someone like Conca here.
  10. Aye, better no signing at all than the wrong signing.
  11. Yes it's different to see them on Football Manager and watch live football. But another thing is to understand football. When Habib Beye left us to play for Aston Villa he was a good Premier League player. But look now, he's fourth choice behind Kyle Walker, Luke Young and Carlos Cuéllar at right back. People must understand the things that's happening outside the football pitch. Sulley Muntari is having a hard period at Inter. He hasn't played very well and wants to leave. If our group of players can welcome him as good as they did with Tioté I think we can enjoy his football again. It's only a loan. The same with Shaun Wright-Phillips. No one knows that he can produce at Newcastle, in our system. Maybe he's made for it? He hasn't had good seasons lately but with some motivation and good man management... who knows? If he replace Routledge on loan, I would be happy. Both this players are realistic. We shouldn't judge them on what they are doing right now. There's a reason why they have become available for us - they have not played very well. But with a new fresh start with new players, everything can happen. Routledge... lightweight, midget, can beat a man, can't cross for shit. SWP... lightweight, midget, can beat a man, can't cross for shit. If anything we need to bring in a winger that can pick out Carroll. Also, Muntari has a track record of shitness. He won't look any better in our side, maybe in a League 1 side.
  12. SWP and Routledge are the same person. I'm still surprised Muntari is employed as a professional footballer. Not even an improvement on Alan Smith.
  13. They'll spend their way out of trouble, particularly if they lose this match. Who that they could realistically buy right now is good enough to fundamentally shift the abject shitness of that team though? Whoever's coming is not going to have Champions League football next year and probably not for the forseeable future. Ian Rush, John Barnes...
  14. Kevin Nolan 4 - 2 Mackems. Next time we'll just send him out on his own.
  15. Not the sub I would have made but lets see how it goes. Cool head, I suppose.
  16. Is the right answer. Our forward line isn't setting the world alight out there but we're creating chances and could easily have put a couple away. We're giving them plenty to think about and our bench isn't any stronger than what we have on the pitch. Pardew has it right holding back on Routledge and Ranger as impact subs for when their defence is tiring. He also has it right in not throwing Gosling in at the deep end when he's clearly not going to be match fit. Granted, Guthrie seems to be following the Kevin Nolan fitness programme but he's likely to be fitter than Gosling at the moment. We need to stick with it, try to up the intensity another notch, keep our nerve, and do better with our posession. They are equally shocking going forward, we're breaking down their attacks very easily. Colo and Williamson have done well in the main, with the exception of getting skinned once. Enrique and Simpson are being typically excellent. Game on. No changes please.
  17. So, not TOTALLY useless, then? He's been alright... Not getting much out of Bramble but he's making him work.
  18. I'd leave it as it is at the moment... bring Ranger on midway into the second half and torture them with his pace. They won't be able to keep up this intensity for 90 minutes.
  19. The through balls into the channels from Barton have been excellent... it's just a shame Best is getting nothing out of Bramble today. Needs to keep at it, he'll drop a bollock eventually if we keep at him.
