  1. Not to mention the effect on team spirit. Sell Carroll and you can be sure a few others will want to take off, too.
  2. Funny because I wouldn't exactly call van Persie the most direct of forwards generally, quite the opposite actually. I agree he's class though. Yeah, he's not exactly out and out route one but he gets in the box, and gets shots away, which is a massive improvement on anything else they have.
  3. he's class, sadly been far too inconsistent/injured to really fulfill his potential. Injuries have taken their toll but he's starting to look the business again. Last week he was everywhere, major part of every attack. This week he's been much the same and got a goal and an assist in the first half. Quite happy I made him my fantasy captain. two goals and an assist. Lets see what the bonus fairy brings.

  5. For once I agree 100% with a post of yours. Don't, you're making me feel dirty.
  6. RVP is a class apart. Exactly what Arsenal have needed this season - DIRECT. None of this passing about rubbish, just forward runs and strikes at goal. Quality player.
  7. That West Ham team is going to get fucked dry.
  8. Whilst I agree the linesman was guessing, the player was a good couple of yards over the line when he cleared it. Nah, left foot behind the line, he was on the post, but he brought his right leg across his body to clear it. No way could he have got that clear if it had gone over the line. The human body doesn't move like that.
  9. Wolves 3rd never a goal. Not in a million years. Ball hadn't crossed the line. Linesman guessing.

    The Derby XI.

....is the right answer. Can't believe no one else mentioned Agent Chopra.
  11. Yes, but it's bad for all parties... Manager can't drop him even if he wanted to (say for tactical or fitness reasons). Player doesn't have to bother his arse in training because he knows he is in the team regardless. There's no incentive to be motivated. That's before you even consider the psychological impact on team mates. Any manager that agrees to that deserves to be sacked.
  12. Why would any manager agree to such a clause? Madness. Must be bullshit.
  13. Or not, considering we've already reportedly dropped interest. We also transfer listed Stevie T.
  14. Just seen something on Twitter with L'Equippe apparently saying we're going to pay £5 million for him. Who he? There's fuck all on the L'Equipe website (or any other French site) about him or us. So just Twitter then Dave's taking the fun out of this with his fact-checking bullshit.
  15. If they're dodgy I'd rather they were on our side.
  16. Luca Toni is off to Juve apparently.
  17. Can't be right. He's already got 5 this season.
  18. True, but we don't exactly try to play counter attacking football, do we? Beckham has never had a turn of pace but has other attributes to make up for it. Likewise Barton and Larsson. Good signing. Bargain price. I've always liked Larsson. Has played in near-enough every game this season for Birmingham so not sure why they'd sell him - particularly at that price. Chips in with the occasional goal. 5 assists so far this season. Sign him up.
  19. Yeah, is he a Keegan or an Allardyce?
  20. True enough. Just worth remembering we shouldn't get carried away. The same would be said if it was a kid banging in goals for fun in the reserves or in the championship. You can only beat what's in front of you but you do need to factor that in to what you take from the game, too. Did well. Still not convinced.
