This is exactly how I feel - I couldn't give a shit if we don't sign anyone. Just get a decent manager who knows what he's doing and we'll all be happy. I care, the idea of Colo/Williamson as the only fit CB's at the club til May the way they are playing? Yeah Dummett can play there but fuck me its a disgrace at Conference level never mind the Premier League Maybe I need to rephrase then. Of course I care, but if we could get Garde in and keep the squad as it is, I'd be far happier than if we signed another first team CB and kept Carver in charge...

That FIFPro team is an absolute joke. Looks like it's been put together by a 13 year old on Ultimate Team for fuck sake.

I had to vote for Calum Davenport, I think there's something hauntingly beautiful about a footballer who gets stabbed in his legs at his Mam's house. -
Guy at my work keeps referring to him as "Papa Cisse". Really annoys me, I correct him every time and he says "Well, Papiss then, whatever" and then continues to call him Papa

It's no coincidence that this seemed to start falling apart once the gifs came

Still trying to remain positive, there MUST be a reason we met with Garde, unless it was a smokescreen. How this tosser would be seen as appropriately qualified for our club is beyond me. Club seemed quick to jump on the Labbadia stuff and deny it didn't they? They've not done that with Garde...mind you they've not done that with Carver either

They probably look at the likes of Paul Merson and think "If he can earn a living doing that, anyone can..."

That was 2 days ago, mind

Sorry for the Taibi nomination. Clearly didn't read the OP... -
Christ I always like seeing a British player move abroad to play but this will end badly

I'm not a fan of the thread title change.

Aye, as dubious as we may see it, at the end of the day judge and jury found him guilty, who are we to argue with that?

I think we've reached the point where we've gone beyond comparing any potential new managers to Pardew and are now comparing them to Garde
-
His actions at Southampton were inexcusable to be honest. Radge packet.

There's a lawrie load of them in this thread. Yeah, if you're trying to avoid the managerial puns, don't come backinnear

It was garbage. Stick to one liners... God that was poor.

What a rubbish joke.

Bit sexist that isn't it? Assuming every single woman holds that opinion? You think it’s sexist of me to assume that women are anti-rape? Righto. As previous posters have pointed out, you do seem to have major comprehension problems. You probably shouldn't be bandying around terms like "thick as pigshit" about others. To clarify, I think it's sexist of you to assume that all women think the same way about this case. Specifically that they all a) agree that this is a clear cut case of rape b) think that after serving the time in prison dictated by the British justice system he hasn't been punished enough and should not be able to resume his career with someone who is willing to employ him It is also ignorant to think that only men without wives or sisters could possibly think that he should be left alone to get on with his life after serving his sentence. I didn’t say ‘all women’, I said female Oldham fans. The guy was sentenced to prison time, clear cut or not based on what you and I read about it, he was found guilty in court. Yes he served his time, but his profession is a specialist one, a privileged one. I work for Social Services, if I had a rape conviction and prison time to my name, I’d struggle to find employment. Lastly, when did I say that only men without wives or sisters could possibly think he should be left alone to get on with his life? I was merely implying that potential team mates of his who do, may feel more strongly against him due to pressures from their loved ones. Nothing remotely sexist or ignorant about that. You are assuming a viewpoint based on gender, both in your assertion that female Oldham supporters would be against it (not sure why supporting Oldham differentiates them from other women), and in your implication that men would be pressured into a viewpoint by their wives & sisters. This was debated on question time: Watch from 27:30. Going on your logic, some of the women on here must be pro-rape I guess? I think we need to agree to disagree to be honest. I'm not being sexist, at the very least not meaning to be. Life's too short to argue the ins and outs of rape on a football forum
