That would only serve to bring the price down.

Nice to see Guthrie gets a place in the team AND on the bench

Fucking hell. With the exception of perhaps 2-3 clubs in this division, or anywhere else for that matter, everyone is 2 or 3 injuries away from not being able to achieve their start of season expectations. If a top 4 team lost 2 or 3 key players they'd struggle to maintain a title challenge, if a team expecting to achieve a Europa League place lost 2 or 3 key players they'd struggle to achieve a top 7 place. If we're aiming for top 10 and we get 2 or 3 injuries to our key players (for arguments sake Tiote/Ben Arfa/Colo) then maybe we'd struggle to achieve top 10 and be involved in a bit of a scrap. It's nothing to do with lack of incoming transfers (despite the fact there's still 6 weeks or so of the window left), it's football.

234 Pretty sure 1 plays for the first team.

I'm turning my nose up because I've seen him play loads of times and he's rubbish. Presumably you've seen him play dribs and drabs for an Arsenal side who insist on walking the ball into the net? As I said, I think he's a confidence player. He'll be getting starts rather than bench time and will no doubt have a much more direct service from our front line. He'd score goals. I for one would be delighted if we signed him.

Baffled that so many are turning their noses up at Bendtner. Aye, he's got an inflated ego but he strikes me as a confidence player. I genuinely think we'll have a top level of supply next season for whoever is playing up front, Bendtner would thrive for us, he'd be our number one striker and with the service from Cabaye, Marveaux, Ben Arfa etc I reckon he'd prove himself a very good forward. Especially, as Madras said, playing in a more 'direct' system.

That photo of Wenger! Looks like he's holding the cup with two big, black arms

The historical badge thing on the back of that Ajax shirt is beautiful. Lovely, lovely shirt.

I can imagine Sturridge to be earning a pretty large wage at Chelsea too, especially under the circumstances in which he signed from Man City. Perhaps realistic on loan but unless we are willing to make him a top earner, maybe not so realistic as a permanent transfer. Having said that, it would be interesting to know if he would like to move here, given the chance.

Orange eh? Ivory Coast-esque...time for the Gervinho unveiling.

Journo: How does it feel to have finally concluded the signing of Demba Ba? Hughton: We've had no contact with the player. Journo: But Chris he's sat right next to you. This is the unveiling presser. Hughton: We've had no contact with the player.

If the club can negotiate a pay as you play deal would you still want him here like?

About time we started at home. -
What's the point of that article? They can afford neither his wages nor the probable transfer fee? They just like the look of him. So on that basis there could be a similar article on Wigan Athletic and Lionel Messi? Fuck off.

Maybe he wants a solid centre to build a team around. It has been a while since we've had a centre like that. also i think cabaye is seen as an attacking signing the way pardew talked about him, 4-2-3-1 looks the likely scenario to me, have strong mobile protection in front of the back 4 I'm inclined to think a 4-3-3 is the way we're headed. With a possible midfield trio of Tiote, Matuidi and Cabaye. Tiote will be the deeper lying, Matuidi ahead of him and Cabaye the furthest advanced but all three playing with discipline and supporting the defense and the attack. Tiote can break the play down and Cabaye is more than capable of playing in a through ball or two behind the defence.

Ferguson is wasted at LB, wing all the way imo. Definitely.

Have to say I find this quite baffling. He's been here since 2007 and has had 1 good season. I don't imagine he's on a pittance either. I think he needs to remember some of the shit he's been through where we've stuck by him.

I'm assuming Jlloyd Samuel was highlighted in error...
