A few people put Gouffran in their suggested teams in the pre-match thread before the first leg and everyone got carried away
-
Are we away first in the next leg?
-
Much better team over the 2 legs, they seemed a completely different team when they went behind! Unbelievable saves from Krul and it was never in doubt once Shola stepped up. Hope Sissoko and Cabs recover enough for Sunday. What are the dates of the next round?
-
Got a feeling the ref's gonna ruin this match for someone. May be a blessing in disguise that Tiote was ill. Ameobi's started brighter than Cisse
-
What an absolute joke! Fair enough if he wants to start Shola but why play Cisse out of position? Makes him and the team less effective and no striker to bring on fresh later on
-
I'd play Anita in there with Cabaye and Sissokho. Marveux on left and allowed to drift, Shola up front (To keep Cisse if required) and Jonas on right. Although Pards said Jonas struggles with 2 games in a week. Would definately drop one of Colo or Taylor for Mbiwa in centre as can't risk 3 CB injured for Sunday. we should just go at them from the off, get the early goal and settle down Yeah I would do something similar, along the lines of Krul Simpson Mbiwa Taylor Haidara Anita Cabaye Marveaux Sissoko Jonas Cisse Try and get a couple of goals by the hour mark and bring on Shola for Cisse and Perch for Cabaye, then Obertan for Sissoko later on and move Marv through the middle
-
I really doubt he would have come back until the people at Clairefontaine said he was ready to go, in which case the only way he will get match fit is by getting minutes coming off the bench which I still think we will see on Sunday
-
In my opinion we should take the game to them and try and get an early away goal. If we are gonna try and hit them on the counter then we could really have done with Gouffran being available. I would have even been tempted to rest Cisse and play him up top with Sissoko behind. Got a feeling if Haidara starts then Jonas will, but wouldn't be suprised to see him play Perch or Mbiwa on the left. Id play Perch rather than Tiote, it'd be a disaster if he got sent off. I think we might see: Krul Simpson Taylor Coloccini Mbiwa Perch Cabaye Obertan Sissoko Jonas Shola Which would be dreadful
-
Gutted, hopefully this is just one a smokescreen and he is going to start on Sunday
-
Yeah probably for the best, Ba isn't here to lend him his gloves any more
-
Totally cringe-worthy, a few tricolours dotted about the place will probably make them feel welcome. Idiots dressed up in stripy jumpers with beret's, moustaches and strings of garlic is surely taking the piss out of them?
-
Steven Taylor, the most snazziest dresser on our books
-
Needs to get himself a new Taylor
-
Some of these are getting terrible
-
Thought he was playing volleyball there!
-
Get in Oldham!!!!!!!!! Thought it was the keeper for a second!
-
Same team again probably! Unleash Sissoko and hopefully kill the game off with a couple goals before the hour mark. Then swap the big guns for the likes of Shola, Marv and Anita. Surely with the likes of HBA to come back and Marv, Anita and Perch fresh we should be able to pull off 2 results
-
Fucking hell man, give it a rest!
-
Other than the daft booking did he really put a foot wrong? I didn't see it. Been good IMO, people seem to be waiting for things to go wrong with him a bit. Clearly better than Perch, he just needs to calm the fuck down. Luckily a booking normally does that for him, he's only been sent off twice for us and neither was for a second booking. The all-round criticism on here is embarrassing
-
Got a feeling he will be easing Mbiwa in on the right and then sub Taylor or Colo after an hour for Haidara/Simpson and move him in the middle. Smart move imo
-
Entirely believable as Pardew's rationale. We're at home looking to press our advantage, let's prioritise the defensive qualities of an attacking role Even tho Obertan doesn't even track back

Wondered when we'd jump on the Bannered-Wagon
