  1. Loven is in this division what we wanted from Owen in 2005...he has the nippy pace to get ahead of defenders, playing on the shoulder (see his goal at Boro), very Owen (of Liverpool)-esque. Also seems to get headed goals due to intelligence of movement... Course, doing this at the top level will be much harder. He has the support of the fans though, and if we can get a creative midfielder in, or Guthrie is played more often and improves as he should do, then i think he can do a job for next season atleast. We have gotta fight relegation man.
  2. fuck off Hull....as much as i love Bullard
  3. He might have been born in Bradford but he grew up in Newcastle. Knew him when I was a teenager and in those days the family lived in Benwell. Don't remember him being much into football. sounds a glory hunter tbf
  4. horrible but could be worse like good times @ you'll never win @ i got my jaw broken by andy carroll @ etc.

    Tamas Kadar

Eto'o-esque goal against Wednesday at home this season...and his turn against Desailly about 6 years ago was classic in all...2 bits of flair in 10 years aint too bad
  6. frighting amount of knowledge about the vicar from emmerdale like...seriously, frightning!
  7. How many games he would need for that? Think we should also play players like Krul or Kadar and some other young players to get them a winners medal then. not sure on the exact figure-read it on simon birds column this week but its 10 for the prem i know that. exceptions can also be obtained to get medals i believe so am i wrong in thinking he only needs to play in 4 more games?...
  8. Football is played at a faster pace nowadays (so we are told anyway) and thus I think players develop quicker and for a peak for a player to be at the age of 23 or whatever is maybe a developing trend. Im not saying Messi will never play better, but id say it has something to do with him hitting such amazing form so early into his career. If he maintains this until he is in his late 20's for example, that would be godlike... It is obscene how much quicker it is, if you ever get a chance watch footage of a match from the 60s or so, honestly if Newcastle played England's 1966 World Cup winning team, Newcastle would win about 20-0, it would just be embarrassing, football has changed a lot, for the better (in the way it's played at least). Not everyone beleives it, so that was more for that case than myself not beleiving it, as even in the past 20 years it has got noticeably much quicker.

    The 'Superfan'

Never understood this argument of people not being there live having a better view of the game as theyre looking in from the outside...its like how everyone else outside of our fans bums Nolan this season, my opinion lies somewhere in middle, but to claim he is the best in the entire football league is ridiculous, and maybe you do need to be at the game to see just how lazy/anonymous he is... this is just an example like, but again as someone in kinda in the middle of this debate (been to about 14 home/away games this season, by no means "week-in week-out) i feel this is kinda the case. Its not a steadfast rule, but it does help going to games. what ive just said is barely worth posting tbf!
  11. http://runaldahiwade.files.wordpress.com/2009/04/ian_rush.jpg until he came to us like...
  12. So Best is good because Ranger wasn't? How does that work then? I think people dislike Best because it means their golden boy Ranger doesnt get as many games when really Ranger should be going out on loan as he needs a full season on loan somewhere to develop as he is not quite ready for regular first team football. I hate both...well, i think both are massively over-rated, and i prefer Ranger i guess as ive seen more from him....
  13. The more i think about it, what with the award in all, i can just see Nolan bagging a brace...and I hear Hoops is out? if so, then i dont think theyll score full stop...basically, a quarter of their goals are from him not to mention his holdup play is superb
  14. Jonas, Loven and Routledge dont run at players like West Brom do? I know Loven and Routledge werent really present til new years onwards...i guess that is the factor really.
  15. i know our recent record but nobody predicting a clean sheet? epic, incredibly pessimistic for our defence. I wouldnt begrudge a goal for Hoops though, massive fan of his, he has to stay at this level if they go down. 2-0 Loven and Nolan
  16. Theyre not so much a football club but more of a place for 80's cockney gangsters to meet up with eachother on a saturday afternoon...football just takes place coincidentally...
  17. not a bad thing, as id have described Balague as teh Spanish Marcotti
  18. Wittingham has missed half the season has he not? and Brunt? really? Dorrans is a much better player... Adam is superb, and probs a bit closer to the national opinion of Nolan than Nolan actually is...though Nolan is over-criticised on this forum like, his actual level of ability lies somewhere inbetween... Whittingham has played in 32 games so I assume not. Scored 16 goals ... 9 assists. Aye Dorrans is probably a better candidate than Brunt. Can't see how Nolan has won this, at all. Whittingham, Ambrose & Dorrans take pens, free kicks and corners. Whittingham & Dorrans have about half a dozen pens each, and it's no wonder their assists stats are slightly better if they're taking most of the set pieces. I'm impressed if people have watched half as many full games of West Brom, Cardiff, Crystal Palace, Blackpool, etc as they have of ours to make the judgement on their superiority for other reasons, but the fact that despite having less goals and assists he has a higher actim rating than them makes me think that he must be doing something in general play that they aren't (tackles, completed passes, etc). Well done Kevin. Fully deserved. Well lets ajust that to the 24 league games he has played including a few from the bnch. He is decent but i wouldnt say has earned owt over Nolan...just like Dorrans has had alot of pens, stat-padding tbh. Charlie Adam is a player that majorly impressed me though.

    Jonas Gutierrez

    even before he signed?

  21. they were pricks for Forest away in all, riot vans called for no reason whatsoever, saw them assault a lad for no reason, and a dog bit a guy's leg...i know its a typical thing to say but the police created more problems that day than they solved
  22. ive got a crap inet connection at uni, so lets give it 2 (or 3 as im failing) years before they get this system on the go hopefully... seriously though, id pay for it if it was like through an interactive thing on tv for example. Like red button on BBC, select what game you want to watch. I can afford championship football but as a student, nee chance for premiership...
