  1. Im not 100% convinced either but you cannot be so sure when you cant even offer some reasonable alternatives.
  2. Not to all the people who have argued that keeping Ba happy is the reason. Keeping Ba happy is a very plausible reason. Otherwise: Why else play 4-4-2 when it is obvious to everyone that 4-3-3 suits our players better? Why change to 4-3-1-2 (a system our team has not played much in) instead of 4-3-3 unless to keep Ba happy playing as a central striker?
  3. Ah right, that much seems obvious. I have a sneaking feeling he does like 4-4-2 though.
  4. "I can't believe Pardew would go for a formation he didn't like just to accomodate one player"
  5. What formation does he not like again?
  6. Tbh it would not be ideal but if we don't lose anyone and everyone will have had more time (time=improve) then we will have done well. Maybe some people will get injured this season too so they might be like new signings. Anyway how can we buy someone good to improve our (good)team? Teams don't like to sell good players.

Nothing player. You can tell this after seeing him play 45 minutes. He simply does not have enough talent to be a premier league footballer, ever.
  8. I see it first hand every week- some people really are brainwashed by this regime
  9. the vast majority of footballers benefit from the passing of time ffs...

  12. I genuinely think you're daft. Barely any reasoning behind any of your arguments. As far as I know you've not really given a solid reason as to why it would be so stupid to just not bother getting Carroll. Try something else, maybe something that actually suits the way our team are going. posted for just such a bite. If you read my posts ive given every credible reason for signing him, for what he brings to the team, the squad, and the fact he fits the description of a striker Pardew gave. daft? Since when did winning an argument depend upon getting a bite ffs? f***ing hate s*** like that. Every credible reason being : 1) He's massive and would be good to have on if we can't win by playing good football (sounds fantastic!). 2) Pards 'described' him. Well, 1 he would not be good to the team, since he broke the jaw of 1/2 of our first choice CB pairing, and 2, I'm sure Pardew has described buying players with versatility, where is Andy Carrolls versatility? Obviously if Pardew is the oracle you should also take this into account. http://i46.tinypic.com/er9wk0.png

Try something else, maybe something that actually suits the way our team are going. I'm surprised it was as many as 2/3 of people saying Yes TBH. If I'd guessed I would have said about 80/20 against. I'm out of touch with the people. Same.
  14. Undecided. Would normally support England but there was an unreasonable amount of disdain for Ireland on here during our campaign (), was more understandable though because of the the way the media went on about our fans Roy probably just about swings it for me, likable chap and a sensible appointment.
  15. But we're not in that position anymore. We don't need to do any desperate and offer a 1-2 year contract to a 32 years old player. We have a successful transfer policy in the club and we are signing relative young players and are offering them 4-5 year contracts. That's what we do now. That's why I don't think Klasnic is a realistic transfer target. And I agree everything you are saying about him.. just don't think he's anything for us. He's also way too lazy for us.
  16. Both for the Europa league campaign
  17. Pardew isn't the most gung-ho of managers, and a lot of the time his basic policy has been to concentrate on containing the opposition at first, and then attack as the game goes on. Of course if the opposition scores first, we're in difficulty and we've taken a few beatings as a result. Like on Sunday. Tbh, for most of this season we've looked more like a mid-table team than CL contenders. We've got up there because we've been organised and tactically astute, and got several results in close games or against the run of play. Our modest goal difference, compared to the teams around us, is a reflection of that. Pardew has recognised our limitations, and set us up to get results despite that. It's only very recently that we've looked capable of really outclassing opponents. That's a work in progress. I'm optimistic because if Pardew can get results with the current squad, think what he could achieve with a few upgrades. Next season might be similar again, focus on improving the defence first and hopefully allowing our attacking and control game to flourish later.
