This, exelent fullback but f***ing hell, he's like the 2nd coming of Fachetti on this forum
-
A left back isn't exactly just some expendable position you know, theres no reason why he shouldn't be paid any more/less due to the position you play. Along with Tiote (EDIT: And possibly Ben Arfa) he's probably our most valuable asset, and we've seen on the other side of defence what it can be like to have a poor player slotting in at fullback. Should be withought doubt one of the top earners, if not THE top earner at the club imo.

He's certainly not "far better than Baines like", from a purely defensive point of view he is, there isn't many fullbacks in world football who get inbetwean man and ball as good as Enrique (and that's not an exageration). He isn't great from an attacking sence though, links up great with the winger and can take players on at will sometimes, but his delivery is largely hit & miss, despite the fact he looked like a young David Beckham against Blackburn a couple month back.

SSN: Scott Parker gets Football Writers' Player of the Year

I wouldn't say parker was 'limited' like, he's an all rounder, good at many things but not spectaular at anything exept the fact he's got a good engine. (unless thats what you meant by limited like, in which case I just have a differant meaning for the word). He's a much better footballer than Gareth Barry man. -
Also, how is it possible for an athlete to become so out of shape? Is it just a Bazilian gene or something? Once they reach there mid to late twenties do the just crumble to some irresistable urge to eat pure lard by the bucket load or summat?

Remember when Reo Coker was such a promosing playing aswell

Aesene Wenger was hardly going to turn round and say, "ner I reckon he was s****, like" when quizzed on the matter, he'd have come out with the same generic praise if f***ing James Perch had won the award. Dear oh dear. what an uteerly pointless post, still waiting on you to list all these dominant performances you've witnessed by Scotty Parker by the way... -

In the words of Alan Pardew, Tiote absolutely raped him. -

So which performances of note can you remember Scott Parker genuinly looking a level above everyone else on the field, so much so that he could be classed as "superb", "best footballer in the country" even. No-one is claiming he isn't a good footballer, just that (like West ham) he has been 2nd bested many (most, whatever) times this season. I don't want to get into a debate of how many games this is like. -

It's not though. He's an above average player playing in an utterly dross side. It's just typical of the attitude in this country to give the award to a player that works hard and is 'committed' instead of players who have actual quality and ability to play at the top level. He's not a bad player technically, he's quite good, but he's nowhere near the best player in the league and hasn't been this season. Did you watch the two games inwhich we played West Ham? Both games he was anonymous and was outplayed and out-fought by our midfield. These games are not exceptions to the norm, this is his level for the majority of the season. He has a few moments of quality and is more committed than his teammates and this exaggerates his ability level. Couple this with a squeaky clean reputation, his nationality and the fact he plays for a Laandan club and bang - Player of the b****** Year. So you're saying that Parker has been anonymous, out-played and out-fought for the majority of the season. Wow. strange they've picked up so little points realy, with Scotty Parker apparently bossing the midfield every game. Yep, good logic that. Well done. Is football still 11-a-side? But you claimed he hadn't been anonomous in many games this season, i'm just saying he has. Regardess of whether that is because he has poor performers around him is irrelevant. -

Many games this season West Ham have been shit and he's been drowned out, i'm sorry but "he was the onky one in the Hammers side outting a shift in" just isn't enough to be classed as the best footballer in the country. I'm not critisising his ability as a footballer, I rate him and I think he's deserving of some recognition, he could certainy do a job for a far better team than West Ham (hell you could put him ahead of Carrick for Man U, Barry for City etc). Basing purely by this season however, this award is laughable. -

Couldn't have been said better, i've said it before, but i've never seen him truly dominate a decent midfielder when he's come across one, never mind dominate a decent midfield. -

What's wrong with Toure like? He's not had a great season at all. Well if the benchmark is Scott Parker then I would say he's have a pheonominal season. And although people don't like to hear it, Nigel De Jong has been far better than Parker this season. -

he is not, and has never been among the 3 best players in the country. I know this kind of debate all comes down to personal preference, but thats fact, Scott Parker was not among the best 3 players in the Premiership last season. Regardless of the fact he's a nice guy, and deserves a bit of recognition, this award is just wrong. -
Was that when he basicaky called Ashley a cunt and then soent the next few hours freaking out about how it was a translation error and stopped speaking English in a huff Good times

It certainly puts him in a posision where he should expect a shit reply back.
