the games he played he seemed to track back well and help out defensively, certainly wasn't lazy defensive wise anyway so i dont think it should be that much of a problem.

People seem to forget Barton is actualy a centre mid (he wasn't used on the right during his best City days), in the next 5 years our style of play will change and he may well not be needed as a RM like he is now.

Barton > Ireland. Barton does absolutely everything in midfield, that said having both in the squad (providing Ireland can find his form) would vastly improve us, creativity wise.

33 isn't nessisarily 'over the hill' for a centre mid who doesn't realy rely on pace/agilty, he certainly won't have lost his eye for a pass by then. Frank Lampard is about that age now

Disagree, I think the lad is a one season wonder, he looked nothing but average before his breakout year, and has loooked nothing but average or worse since. I for one would be hugely disappointed if we wasted a loan fee and wages on that piece of piss. before his breakthrough season he would have been 20-21, the season after was interupted by mancini coming in and not playing him

NUFCfans just seems to be some sad bloke who retweets every single little rumour for seemingly no apparant reason.
