I don't know how much they'd let Hernandez go for, I just know that they would be a lot less reluctant to let him go than we would be (£20 million was just a figure plucked from another post like). VDV to Tottenham for £8 million is just one example, if roles were reversed do you realy think Tottenham would have let VDV go to Madrid for the same price? Of course it's all just speculation anyway like.

Eh? He's still young, English and scoring freely. Rightly or wrongly, that guarantees a silly price tag. If he was at a club with a better pool of talent we'd be challenging for Europe and still wouldn't be selling him, let alone for less. It's common sense and it happens all the time, a clubs "prized asset" will allways have an inflated price tag and they will be reluctant to sell for anything other than a silly fee due to his imprortance to the team. If Carroll was at Manchester United there is absolutely no way they would turn down 20 million for him You're f***ing nuts, tbh. I was going to debate the point further but can't be arsed. There is no point, clubs will hold on for a silly fee to keep there prized asset and Man United would sell Andy Carroll if someone stumped up £20 million. City's recent stupidity in the market seems to have warped folks perspective of a players worth massivly tbh

He's 22 and the best striker in the league, less than £30m would be nowt short of a sick joke. Best striker in the league? f***ing hell... He isn't even the most "in form" striker in the league man. Who is? And don't give me any rubbish about Tevez or Berbatov.

I've allways wanted to see Jonas on the right, managers just seem reluctant to play him there for whatever reason though
-
If he was at club with a better pool of talent, and and actual selection of half decent strikers howerver, he'd probably go for less than 20 million
-
Tbh 20 million for Carroll is fucking ludicrous, but in our circumstances we realy cannot afford to let him go, even for the silly prices been bounced about in the media.

Report: Alan Smith to leave NUFC in January?

Who was he telling to "fuck off" when he came off injured? Looked like he was shouting into the crowd or the dugout? -
About time we had any sort of selection headache tbh Carroll Jonas B.Arfa Nolan Barton Tiote ---------------------------- Carroll B.Arfa Jonas Tiote Nolan Barton

De jong pretty clearly won the ball like, but like bartons against alonso his trailing leg cut through the player
-
it was like Completely unecissary scissor challenge by the corner flag, you cannot ridicule de jong and claim bartons was ok tbh Barton got the ball and it was not a two footed lunge. A yellow, maybe, but a red? Not in a million years if he'd not been Joey Barton. could say the exact same about de jongs

so blanking the memory of hallowen out already, by the start of next season they'll have themselves convinced it was 5-1 to them and anyone who disagrees is a deluded mag etc etc etc.
-
Also we're the bogey team "similar to how Bolton were to Arsenal" as they struggle against our long ball style of play
-
Aye Im pissing myself reading RTG today, been some corkers. Apparantly the league table CONFIRMS that Sunderland are far superior and today they were just realy poor by there standard where as we played the game of our lives, and could still only manage a draw.
-
Pretty amazing how the op crititsises nolan for disrupting the keeper at set pieces, calls him a "horrible bloke" and then sugests that Sunderland should do the same in his final sentance

Sunderland v Newcastle United pre-match thread - Sun 16th Jan at 12!

Talk some serious s**** like. "Never been a fan of Coloccini" "Need someone more experienced in there (CB)" Someone more experienced than a full argentine international who has plied his trade in 4 countries and is in his late 20s? You wah? -
In my opinion the whole apeal and review system needs a major overhaul, there will allways be complaints as it will never be perfect, but there needs to be a sense of consistency across the board. I don't know exactly what happens currently but i'd like something like this: A panel of about 11 professionals in touch with the modern game, from ex-managers to ex-referees from League 2 to the Premier League (as well as a couple of reserves to cover apeals made by any of the panel's favoured teams). This panel would come together with a few from the FA and determine some clear cut rules amongst themselves for anything that may be apealed. Any team from League 2 onward can apeal to this panel any wrongful dismisal/fine etc that they wish to be upheld, obviosly with consequenses if the apeal fails, such as a set fine and/or an extention to the ban. This would include any incident that the referee has seen, in which case the referee would be given the oppotunity to voice his version of the events from what he could see, but he would have no further say on whether or not the apeal is upheld or not. The panel would then look at every apeal, discuss it as a group and then vote (in private) whether they wish to reject or accept the apeal, with the majority vote winning, obviosly. The panel would never change if possible throughout the season (and longer if possible) to keep a sense of consitancy to the decisions. (To reiterate this panel would not include any of the boffins from the FA, but managers, referees and ex-players etc.)

Competition: Ziani chooses El-Jaisch (rich as f*ck Qatari club)

Probaly is Routlege trying to fleece us on a double contract. Wayne will be subbed off for 'Ziana', pull out a pretendie mustash and return back to the field. -

As I've said before (meh, it's worthy of a repeat), probably the funniest quote from any manager I've heard this year was (as well as him saying their season was based on beating you), "With 67 days to go to the next derby, we need to exact revenge. Not that I'm counting the days or anything." quality sounds like he's been taking pr tips from SBR
