Newcastle United 0-2 Manchester United (26/02/2023)

It's been 3 windows tbf. We're great at identifying players who will fit our system but obviously pretty bad at actually scouting them. It's something that will get better (hopefully by the summer) but it's becoming increasingly more obvious that Howe needs help like. -

Fair enough I don't really watch live UK tele much so they may be massively out of the loop, but you never mentioned them in your original post at all so I'm not sure why you're puffing your chest out here like -

He's been widely regarded as the best centre defensive mid in the world for about half a decade man -

Chelsea had a ridiculously strong squad even before January man Kaka, what are you talking about. We've done great to get where we are, today has been amazing and the feeling of absolute dread in the build up is something I've only felt from England recently (a complete reversal from growing up), but the past month we've seen the pretty clear drop off that people (outside of Newcastle fans especially) predicted. -

I honestly don't know what people are watching like. It was the same last season too (when we were seeing less of the ball) where we were great out of possession but had a clear lack of quality on the ball. We've obviously done well in training on working on patterns of play but now our right hand side has been sussed (and the Joelinton/Willock duo after that) we don't look capable of scoring. We get the ball forward well and can force it into dangerous positions but the constant poor decision making and finishing in the final third will only be sorted by bringing in top quality players. -

About to piss all over my bedsheets here like, but it is canny disappointing that the past month could have been lightyears better had we been better in the transfer market We're so devoid of creativity. -

We’ve been fine, just as has been obvious for ages we’re being carried by Howe We need more players with genuine quality, wether we come back or not. -
Mike just blows everyone out the water like

I agree to an extent about save stats like Froggy, but Pope has been rock solid and losing him is massive like. It's like replacing a reliable 1 in 2 striker with someone who'll grab 1 in 4. Not necessarily disastrous and you can still play your gameplan but your odds of scoring vs conceding are effected to a point it has a pretty clear impact on the statistical outcome of the game.
-
Not sure if yesterday changed things but Pope had the best save percentage in the league, he's a massive advantage over a keeper who's barely played in ages. Karius could have a blinder like and hopefully he does.
-
"You could write it but probably wouldn't, which you could say about literally anything to a degree dependant on the statistical outcome of it happening" sounds shit though.
-
Liverpool looked absolutely shit tbh, they'll have to improve a lot to make the top 4 ahead of Brighton. We're still favourites imo, just nowhere near as much as we were a few games ago.
-
The entire card system needs remodelling tbh, the governing bodies encroach onto the sport every year with updates that rarely benefit the entertainment side of the sport, yet have left in tact a punishment system which makes no sense. If they're not ruining games as a spectacle they're unnecessarily destroying a blokes life long dream to play in a cup final Just give the opposing team a goal for shit like this and cynical last man fouls. No need for anything else. Same for 2 yellows. Dangerous challenges give the opposition a goal and force the fouling player to be substituted (if no subs left they go down to 10). 1 game ban that can be extended in serious circumstances of violent misconduct.

Shades of Tommen Baratheon been made king of Westeros.
-
They done us with 2 great balls in between our defenders, you could argue we gave too much space in behind but both goals could have been prevented if Trippier steps up (from memory anyway?) We we’re clearly the better side and I think the fact we continued to cause them problems when a man down vindicates the opening. Liverpool are woeful defensively atm. Just caught them on a clinical day.
-
Fantastic performance down to 10. It's an annoying result but the fact I've been able to genuinely enjoy a game we were 2 goals and a man down after 20 minutes or so is a testament to how much I want to suck this man's cock.
-
You couldn’t write it like Hopefully go down as a club legend.

Said Trent will go down as one of the best passers I think

A proper Frank Grimes style meltdown. Even the daft decision to loan Dubravka to Man Utd has fucked us over
