  1. In all honesty this should be a good thing for them, as it's a chance to bring in a proper up and coming manager in the mould of Potter (before he joined Swansea), which is the best a club like them can do to move up the footballing pyramid. It just doesn't seem like they have the people to identify and court that kind of manager. They'll end up with some proven-to-be average established name and will finish lower mid-table.
  2. Sven Botman looks like he'd really love the monkey tbf, I reckon he'll end up being roped into the monta musika scene or whatever it is these days.
  3. Did he not do alright on loan to Shef Wed? The drop to the Championship is huge and pacy wingers who are technically sound can do well there. His shortcomings seem to be mostly mental too, he gets time on the ball and seems to overthink things, he doesn't have the natural instinct to just play a weighted pass to a teammate in a better position, he'll look up, see three players asking for the ball and start to visually compute where he needs to put it, fucks up his calculations and gives it straight to a defender.
  4. It's canny funny when you realise what actually enjoying football is like
  5. Looks like a lanky Mascherano. Might as well just get the cunt.
  6. He looks outrageous defensively. I still think we'll go for a more technically gifted CM like, although he doesn't look bad on the ball by any means.
  7. I assumed Howe would want someone who can do the Shelvey role like, rather than just a destroyer, given how we play. He seems to have really good long ball accuracy but rarely hits it long (FBRed)
  8. How's Alvarez on the ball? I'm assuming he can ping it about? EDIT: Seen @McCormick's post
  9. Hope Bruno and Joelinton slice the cunt in half when he comes to SJP.
  10. Might as well change their name to Nottingham Fullback
  11. Aye watching Isak tear the league apart will definitely make the winter go through a lot smoother.
  12. To add to this, it's actually outrageous how advanced we were against them
  13. Yeah, our average positions on SofaScore show Burn as a clear LB like, obviously not as consistently advanced as Trippier.
  14. We're a young left wingback, a central midfielder, and a winger away from having a very, very strong squad like. We'll get at least one more of those in by next week you would imagine too.
  15. Also one for @LV "Yasir Al-Rumayyan, Newcastle’s chairman and governor of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF). Having witnessed Callum Wilson finish the game early because of yet another injury, Isak was identified as the solution to the club’s attacking shortcomings and sources indicate that greater funds were made available."
  16. "Once Anthony Gordon and James Maddison proved beyond their reach, and Watford rebuffed their attempts to acquire Joao Pedro, the decision was made to go bold by making a serious play for the 22-year-old Isak." Eddie Howe with the Diago parry.
  17. this is proper amazing like, it’s as if we’re living out some Stranger Than Fiction novel written by a Geordie.
  18. Fucking hell this would be funny as fuck like
  19. https://www.wolvesforum.co.uk/index.php?threads/newcastle-h-28-8-build-up-match-thread.37930/ One of the more level headed fan boards out there by the looks of things. Surprised they don’t seem to massively rate Sa, I thought he was seen as one of the best in the league last year. They looked great against Tottenham first half, we can definitely get a result but without Wilson we’re tepid up top, hopefully Isak gets more than 20 minutes of needed.
