It cannot be Emo-Online like. Think our average place on this forum would be about 13th. -
I agree, that could be different in a years time though, if Howe feels like there's a player in there. I would love Cornet here fwiw - I would swap him for Miggy in a heartbeat, I just know there'll be an actual reason why we're not going in for him. It might just be that unless we can sign our priority targets we're happy to go with what we have (and probably a loan or 2), try to improve their value, and use the money saved in January/Summer.

Well aye but not for the reason's you seem to think Nobody has suggested Almiron is comparable to Cornet surely, too? We benefit from playing Almiron, if Howe believes he can get a tune out of him, as it increases his value to the squad.

Bowen and Cornet have both been comfortably better than Maxi and Almiron in the Prem. Wilson vs Scamacca is hard to judge, but he seems like a great forward. ASM and Miggy could improve their output (they have to) but it's no comparison really atm.

West Ham's attack is lightyears better like

If there's more than just StatsBomb recording xG then it will likely be different for each company, as they'll be tweaking it to improve accuracy at the very least. Decent little look into it here anyway. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.reddit.com/r/FantasyPL/comments/c1qkgt/i_attended_a_statsbomb_course_about_football/&ved=2ahUKEwibtefAoq35AhWbgVwKHYHFC6QQjjh6BAgVEAE&usg=AOvVaw0WoNQH8JQWK1jOtAu15JrO

This is it. We're trying to grow the squad over the next few windows, this also includes improving players we have (either for resale value, or to bring them up to the level we need for our squad). We're not like City who just need a striker, and to replace their CDM. -

The thing with some of the posts on here, isn't that it's wrong to feel disappointed or frustrated that we haven't signed X, Y, or Z. It's the feeding into the narrative that we're either clueless, just sort of throwing darts at a board, are making derisory and pointless bids for players, or need to be buying X player NOW. -

All we know is that Botman and Ekitike were two of our main targets, we got Botman and nearly got Ekitike. Beyond that we've seeminly bid for Harrison, Diaby, and are ongoing with Maddison. If other clubs are not willing to sell for a price we think is fair the it's not going to happen. We'll probably not know that until we've hoyed a bid in though. We're not actually desperate for players, so I'm not sure why we should be overspending at this stage? -

No, but Howe has already said we're pursuing a small number of targets. Luke is making sound like we've been caught off guard by Leicester and are now confused as to what to do next. We'll either put in another bid for Maddison or will move onto one of our other targets. There's no guarantee we get them, but we'll obviously know who we're going for (unless an opportunity pop out of nowhere). -

If ever there was confirmation that journalists know absolutely nothing about what we're actually doing it's that like -

It's different people saying both of those things, and the same people held the same opinion 3 days ago -
Cornet could have dozens of clubs talking to him man, he could be waiting it out to get the best offer. On paper he looks like he would be a quality signing. It was a few month ago people were being apathetic towards Nunez, and then Liverool bought him for like 100m or something stupid

Cornet seems really obvious like, he'll probably end up at a bigger club than expected. -

I read that Sanjay (who's great) thread like but I just cannot see it, he'd essentially be a wide playmaker with Bruno behind him and Trippier beside him, both basically doing the same thing in that area, it seems a bit off imo. I'd hope we getting a pacy, direct left footer. -

The issue with Wood was exemplified last season imo, our style of play basically needed a game winner as we were very poor in the final 3rd. Hopefully a pre-season and someone like Maddison would change that (as well as having Trippier back). Miggy and Anderson were very direct from midfield at the weekend (Wood dropping back like a shit Harry Kane), and I think in general we'll look a lot more dangerous from midfield. We obviously need another forward like, it would be a pretty clear failure if we don't get one this window, but I don't think losing Wilson will completely kill our attacking play like it did last season. -

Yeah, we can afford to do it too as where we finish next season isn't THAT important. We can hopefully turn the screw next summer when we'll know exactly where we're at. -

Why would his agent be sounding out a new deal? He has 2 years left on his contract, he doesn't need to play some over the top subterfuge for Leicester to give him a better one. -
Our defence needed sorting, as we'd just be shipping goals left and right otherwise. Midfield and attack we seem to just be going for top quality players. May settle for a loan, or cheap option late on but we obviousy still have high priority targets available.
