I would mainly like a 4-3-3 because we can have both cabaye and guthrie on the field. They will get more freedom to roam around and will get into scoring positions. With Ba HBA and Marveaux up top we'll get the cleverness and dribbling ability to be effective on the counter. When going stale we still get the creativity to get passes in behind and we can push their midfield into deep defences when going forward.

Ben Arfa needs a system wich suits him, and four four bloody two doesn't. If we were playing a more 4-3-3 style we might have been better off with HBA in the team. But neither jonas or obertan knows what an offensive run is so he has two choices when he plays, either dribble past all and score, or give the ball to Ba.

I know people on here hate perch. But really he wasn't that much worse then coloccini wich where totally crap on several occations today. Severly dissapointed today. And his tackle late on against odemwingie showed his furstration of the night. We can't play such a high line against fast forwards. They were lethal and we were toothless. Even though we had ben arfa onfield we still went for the wingplay. We should've played more infield. Ba had a good day today and could've scored more.

We really suffer from only having one forward doing the finishing. And wingplay beeing abit meh. Seems like we can only have one half decent winger at a time. When jones is good, obertan is shit and vica versa.

What i more and more feel we need is a winger with decent end product. Not your classical two way winger. A real specialist who can come inside, go outside, give a good cross. A Robert, with that kind of quality in the side we would get tons more chances and we can afford having such a player now, especially with tiote and cabaye working their magic as they are right now.

Jonas was excellent in the beginning of the season. He's been running into trouble as of late and looks jadded all the time. It's time for some rest for the lad.

Allways liked Alex tbf, thought he did better then Luiz in pure defensive qualities. But is alas worse going forward. But indeed we need someone really dominant and mobile to play alongside colo to soak up the long balls.

Should give the lad atleast a year. Despite, we don't exactly have much options in regards of the right wing spot tbf.

I'm not saying leave Cabaye out, but you're right about that. Might be good on him tog et a few games of rest before the christmas period as we can afford it while guthrie is in such good form. The christmas period is a thight programme and we'll need to rotate abit under that period if we want to keep the performances to the best.

Jonas and HBA up top with BA would provide too little finishing ability, we are allready down to that in our current formation. As I've said earlier I would want jonas at left back due to his speed wich makes us able to be higher up the pitch then with Raylor in that position. Would thug Best up in jonas spot or swap him to the CF position. So we get a player capable to holding up the ball at the same time as we got the speed down the flanks and passing ability from midfield HBA to pick people through. Really think we should go this way. If we coped with Raylor at the back four we sure should cope with Jonas as a wingback.

Interesting formation - I'd assume this is with us buying a new CB to play with Colo and compete with Williamson and Perch? Santon hopefully will fill in at RB with the idea that he'd do the same as Jonas does on the Left side? ---------Krul--------- Sant-CB-Colo-Jonas --Guth--Tiote--Cab-- --------HBA---------- -----Ba-----Best---- our midfield of late have played well and with a trio consiting of those three would be capable in both defence and attack. Especially at retaining posession. When it comes to jonas it's mostly because the trio have been playing so well, and I want jonas to play aswell. He has shown that he can defend and therefore leftback supporting wingback is the option I chose for him. The right back I didn't think so much about since simmo go the speed to get up and down the pitch, wich was essential when comming to jonas abilities aswell in that regard. The trio up top should be able to cause a havoc on the counter. Aswell as we got two finishers up there strong on the head. And ba can play the nippy striker role wich he has enjoyed earlier in the season alongside best. Hba will get more options infront of him. Aswell as there is long range shots in that side aswell. I really don't think HBA can play a withdrawn role in a 4-4-2 as for now as neither of our wings are that good finishers. Our fullbacks aren't fast enough to give an outlet up top as at the same time be behind and defend. So basicly when HBA gets the ball, it ends up with him either playing it to wings crossing at one striker, or he got one striker to play through. it's not enough options for him in that kind of formation. And we don't have fullbacks good enough to play higher up the pitch either.

Defence is hit hard by injuries, might cause a concern to get even more midfielders in and actually go for the 4-3-3 people are mentioning. Try to retain posession against the weaker sides we are meeting now and take our chances when we get them. Actually put gutierrez down left back for me to get someone to carry the ball all the way up, put guthrie, tiote and cabaye in the middle with ben arfa roaming infront and whatever duo involving BA up top. Should be a quite dynamic side considering the overload in midfield. However height and steel in defence will be dire.

the lack in that duo is that none of them got the pace and dribbling skills to get past a midfield trio of chelsea or city. Can't really remember how it went in the midfield battle at manu though. However, with a midfield trio they could easily go up against their midfield together and providing options to eachother with wingers cutting inside aswell. Could be an interesting thought. As both of them got a good shot on them and can pick a great pass when needed. Also late in the game today they did pass it through middle, more because we had a forward duo instead of a single forward. HBA kept his time hiding behind romeu.

tbf, loven was one of our better players going forward. HBA was quite shite and I was really dissapointed in his lack of getting into positions to get the ball. Pardew seems kinda forced to play him though as he is a fans favourite and a really good technical player. But he has to start wanting it more or he should be benched again. Might be playing on the wing just suits his lack of workmanship more.

At this moment of time guthrie > cabaye.

tbf was dissapointed with him today. Doesn't offer himself out enough to get the ball. The ball should go trough him at every occasion when in the offensive, but was vastly hiding behind their midfielders all the time. Should run the channels more, go wide just to get the feel of the ball. And with him on the pitch we can't have two wingers who are outwide never gonna get goals that way. Either we have to resort to no wingers or an attacking trio.
