  1. On the Periscope feed from the away stand, there was a patch of sustained chanting of his name. Can someone tell me why our fans are so desperate to see him play? Have we done this for any other players since HBA, who actually deserved chanting to be put onto the field?

Wasn't really sustained chanting for him. He was warming up regularly on the sidelines and he was appreciating the support from the crowd for the team. Obviously his celebrations with Gayle's goals got him a good reception as well as he was only sub to join in really. His passion for the club on and off the pitch definitely serves him well with the fans as well as arriving with a big reputation for being a top prospect.

As well as getting a lot of love from fans, you've still got a large section that don't like him at all, it's quite split i reckon.

  2. I liked Diame as a player before he arrived here. He proved for West Ham he was good enough in the PL playing CM, he was a massive asset to Hull in their promotion in a more advanced role so he's proved he's capable at this level as well. He admitted fitness issues when he first arrived but now he's fully fit he's still not producing on the pitch. His attitude seems spot on though and he clearly wants to succeed but he's finding it a big struggle right now.

  3. Fans last night seem to have made their minds up already on him. The moans and groans with yells of abuse at him was shocking. Massively low on confidence at the moment, doesn't seem comfortable on the ball and everything being rushed which is killing his first touch. He's trying to work hard for the team with the closing down but it's all he's effective for at the moment.

Thought he was our worst player again last night but think he needs either time out the team to reflect on performances or a position change because it's not working for him in that role and he's not receiving the support from the fans either which was evident last night.

  4.

Ok...... did anybody else think he had his best game for us in 2 years?

Was i seeing things or was he breaking forward more?

Tbf he was good yesterday  O0

He was a 7/10 and that's easily the best he's been since he was called up for England.

Still wish he'd just fuck off so I never have to watch him play for us again though.

  5. He must have been itching to get on today, especially watching Gayle win his share of headers against their centre halves who didn't look great in the air.

Obviously Rafa knows best, but Mitro must be getting very frustrated.

His time will come. Hopefully he stays patient and keeps the right attitude in training. Got to fancy him to start one of the next two matches.

  6. Wouldn't be surprised if we see him back in with Perez behind him in one of our next two games.

Yeah, let's drop Gayle who got a hat trick in his last home game, and bring in Pérez who has not only been playing s**** but, unforgivably, gave up covering his runner against Wolves and gave the ball away in his own final third which led directly to their second goal.

Hopefully Rafa's made his mind up regarding Pérez by not including him in his last match day squad.

Tbf to Perez though, he was brilliant behind/alongside Mitro away at QPR then he was put back out wide in his most ineffective position at home to Wolves. He was caught in area he shouldn't really be operating in, harsh to judge him on that imo. Mitro/Perez partnership hasn't been seen since the 6-0 which was our best performance of the season and their individual game time has been limited since.

Not hard to see why someone would suggest Rafa may bring that back for one of the next couple of the games as it deserves the opportunity at some point regardless of Gayle's hattrick in the last home game. Personally i'd like to see Mitro/Gayle given the chance together but Rafa seems happy to give Gayle/Diame extended game time even though it hasn't looked up to much of a partnership.

  7. Didn't need to get out of second gear. Man City were pathetic. Even with just the one goal, it was such a comfortable tie for Madrid. Hope they do the job against Atletico now in the final once again!

  8. Ringer saved all the the pens...Reds win

    Tucked mine away like Shola.

I think Heza needs to take responsibility. He should have been like our Pirlo on Joe Hart. Smash the keeper's confidence on the first pen. Instead he hung out for the glory on the 5th which became irrelevant. Bottle job imho.

  9. I had my doubts over this lad but fair play to him, he's came in a showed real heart and commitment but not only that, he's backed it with some top defending.

Him and Darlow are growing it stature with every game and it's good to see. Easy to see why Darlow was number two before he got injured that allowed Elliot to seize his chance.

  10. I'm going to need confirmation this is on by early afternoon. Just a bit of a nightmare at work having this Saturday off and next for Villa. Ideally would work a few hours tomorrow morning before the toon match.

Can't believe we are scrapping around for 10 heads even with open invitations for ringers

  11. I asked Beardsley if Pardew was right or wrong with Ben Arfa and how he had a love hate relationship with fans off the pitch...he said he had Ben Arfa for a few weeks when he was banished and for me his attitude was first class, he was great for younger lads and a joy to watch, if he was in charge, he would still be here playing for us.

More of a crying shame how much we wasted him. Great goal and assist tonight by him.

  12. I was at a talk in with Beardsley on Friday...someone said recall Arma, he's better than Mitro/Rivière/DeJong/Doumbia...pedro said he wasn't ready, there was levels in football, Arma is miles away from PL. Bloke kicked off saying Arma scored goals, none of our strikers can. It got quite heated for a Q+A, pedro said Arma would be 6th choice, he'd had Rivière and Doumbia easily over Arma. Says 4/5 years Arma might be better than rivière, fair enough but right now Mitro for his age is a man, Arma still a boy who shouldn't be near PL.

  13.

He was willing to die for the cause today. Love you Mitro.

Unreal! Wish we could bottle his passion and feed it into others.

His lack of goals has been an issue for us a team but as a player I have no worries in him at all. His all round game is far better than i expected, his chest control up with the best I've ever seen. He's not just the nutcase who wants a fight, he wants to fight for his team, many of which in our squad don't want to do.

If we do go down God forbid, Mitro is someone we should be supporting and fighting to keep because he's the type to fire us back up. He's improving all the time.
