Agree with PlymouthGeordie tbh. Harrison is a good player, but he wouldn't be a transformative signing. Bruno, Trippier and Botman are the real benchmark - the hope has to be that we are targeting this level of player to the greatest possible extent to be able to fulfil both their ambitions and the clubs in as short a time span as is possible. They haven't signed to target a place in the Europa league in a couple of years. That said, the limitations around what we're able to do at the moment are real and need to be navigated intelligently. On the most basic analysis, Harrison would improve us. Personally would be most happy if we signed Paqueta and then used the loan market to strengthen elsewhere (forward/right-wing) if need be.
-
Might prefer him to Isak, tbh.
-
Would rather sign Paqueta, someone like Broja on loan as Wilson's understudy and leave the winger until January (assuming we need to operate within these kind of constraints).
-
Didn't he do poorly last season?
-
No particular reason to assume we are happy to let him go? Not that I've seen anyway.
-
Not sure I'd be wanting him if I was a championship club honestly, not if I'd spent any length of time watching him at NUFC the last couple of seasons.

Martin Dúbravka (now playing for Burnley)

Can't think of too many sides outside of the top 6 or 7 teams with a better starting goalkeeper than Dubravka, to be honest. At least a top 10 level goalkeeper I would say, and his form in the second half of last season would certainly back that up. -

Kind of defeats the object of signing Pope if it's just going to be Darlow coming in if he's out. -
He has some useful attributes but he's certainly nothing special from what I've seen.
-
For me, probably Ekitike or equivalent level as the forward signing (with the deal structured to suit FFP), a quality RW, Paqueta and an up and coming CM prospect (Luka Sucic) would be the ideal world.
-
That's very far from an ideal world
-
Norman Wooster. Class name, even better face
-
Paqueta for me. In terms of outright quality but we will also benefit more from his creativity in the final third than from Tielemans attributes in a deeper role.
-
Didn't Tielemans look pretty poor in the season just gone?
-
NUFC interviewer as piercing as ever with the interview questions "You like keeping clean sheets Sven?" "Aye I do, all things considered" (not a direct quote, but may as well be)
-
If it was to be Broja I would greatly prefer a loan with an option to buy rather than an outright purchase at this point.
-
Good is no longer the benchmark. He's earned the right to be a contributor, if he wants to keep his place in the first XI and keep up with our ambitions he needs to demonstrate excellent form on a consistent basis. For me, his limitations are going to limit our potential as a team and he will need to be upgraded. But it doesn't necessarily need to be in this window, especially if we sign a young prospect in CM to gradually bed in over time.

Gold and Sullivan up to their old tricks

Think so, could be wrong but I seem to remember them also being the outlet who first ran with the story of us looking to explore the Brazilian market too
