I'm hoping we will sign a higher quality RW this summer, but more than happy to have Almiron as back-up and as part of the squad. His energy and pressing is unbelievable sometimes, can't see anyone above him in our squad in that respect. Very well suited to the style Howe is trying to move us towards.

Why signs backups when you can sign upgrades? O goals and 1 assist last season from McNeil. Can't imagine why people are unwilling to put him in the same bracket as Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips.

We should be targeting players capable of playing in a side challenging for the top six. Raphinha and Phillips would be excellent signings on that basis. Dwight McNeil is nowhere near that level. Ward-Prowse is more like a top 10 level player, ditto Pope.

Don't know why anyone would want us to waste our time looking at lower mid table PL level players. Mcneil may not even be that good.

Rather Pope than Henderson by a long way, but still highly debatable that he represents an upgrade on Dubravka at all.

By all accounts a really promising keeper, possibly the kind of profile we should be looking at rather than someone to come in as a number one?

Express is literally a worthless source, don't think there is a paper with a worse track record for transfer reporting out there.

It would have been nice to have seen Thauvin within a proper setup, not the clown show we were running at the time. Talented player. Could say the same about a number of others from that era.

Don't think Targett matches peak Enrique for us, like, even on a very good day. At his best pretty much nothing got past Enrique whatsoever, whereas we were able to observe Targett's limitations more in games against the top six teams, particularly when it comes to pace. Describing him as a revelation offensively is also going way over the top, it's the solidity and composure he brought to the left hand side which was so valuable for us in the second half of the season. Offensively he was merely okay imo, and it looks like that may be why we are now weighing up our options.

Definite PR move, I think some might be forgetting what a master of self aggrandisement and shaping media/public perceptions he was in his time here.
