That's what I thought but I've only seen it once

Liverpool Red Stockings. Seems like a good fit. I'm going with that.
-
It certainly should be.

Isn't the accepted spelling Redsox? Are you humouring us?

His wife will be furious

Tediously, this is absolutely correct. Incidentally, this sort of thing is why FIFA have appointed Time Lords as referees at the highest level, so they can freeze play, knee the physio in the knackers on the bye-line and then resume the match as if nothing happened. Obviously we're none the wiser and the beautiful game remains unsullied by gamesmanship. Well done FIFA.

Pundits. The Soccer Saturday morons are going on about that Oscar goal and all think his obvious miscontrol but quick reaction was a deliberate act of genius. Much like Bergkamp's goal against us all those years ago which has been written in stone as genius when he didn't have a clue where it was going at first. Tin hat on

The Footballers' Football Show on SS1 now is about this - Steve Rotheram MP, Neil Fitzmaurice (Peep Show, The Office, etc.) and Ray Houghton are the guests - they were all there. Repeated @ 0100, 0900 and 1300 tomorrow on various SS channels if anyone wants to watch or record it.

he's scored 3 goals in 2 games, who cares how many shots he's had. I agree, many's the time in my prolific career I'd wander around the place, but when it came to the ball and the net they would often meet. Seemed OK at the time tbh. Hope he has a decent career after this monumental mistake.

So when the ball is dead time is not added? Wow. You learn something new every day. Not from FIFA's fucking website like, I have also learned that today

Of course he's right. It is absolutely insane that a footballer can earn more lying on a beach in the summer than we can throughout our entire hard-working stressed-out lives. Nice that at least one of them has twigged this though, rather than just assuming they're so special that they're worth it. Jobi McAnuff has a great name too, nearly as mad as mine, sling us £25K mate, you won't miss it

"Scandanavanian"

But he pulled off a "coop" signing Andy Carroll

These bits bring it all back tbh, not the same incidents, but when this happens you have no control any more and it is terrifying. Feet off the ground, arms pinned to your sides, if someone goes down next to you, you're going down too and a shitload of people are coming on top of you and they can't help it either. Not proud of it but if I could get an elbow free I'd boost myself up a bit on someone else's shoulder just to get a breath. 50,000 at SJP in those days was a fight for survival if you got caught in the tide and I can remember a couple of times getting slammed up against the brick wall outside the Leazes turnstiles (Ipswich and Arsenal in the mid-70s I think) and just fighting to get away from the crush and collapsing before giving up and going home instead. Polis sitting unbothered on their horses as per. Fuck knows how it never happened before, it was bound to. Generations of callous bastards milking the cannon-fodder for every penny and not caring whether they survive the day, institutionalised police brutality, sneering middle-class media and simple-minded Joe and Josephine Public, who would have guessed it could all go wrong? 23 years to admit this is a fucking national disgrace when it was crystal-clear immediately afterwards what had happened, a cluster-fuck. Some people made bad decisions, some other people didn't know what to do, or froze, or simply couldn't help, most people didn't know what was happening, but most of all the people in charge hadn't made any plans for this possibility WHICH WAS THEIR FUCKING JOB. You shouldn't have some poor traumatised PC running round trying to find the maintenance man to get some boltcutters to open the emergency gate to let the dying fans out ffs. Oh, man, I thought this wound had healed. Those poor people

Also, there is a difference between Joe Bloggs, employee of Sainsbury's, and professional footballers who represent their club and its sponsors and therefore their behaviour is associated with their brand. Also Man City have a duty of care to their staff and I think they have failed here. You can't go throwing money at kids without ensuring they spend it responsibly IMO. This is more of a football in general thing rather than being aimed at Man city though. And most of all that kid is a complete and utter idiot. I hate this word fiercely and with a vengeance. "that kid is a complete and utter idiot." is completely and utterly right though. Fucking hell. Hope he has a conscience.

I can tell you're angry, but it's not your employer's responsibility unless you're driving for them, is it? You are responsible for yourself. Sorry, and it's shit that it happened fwiw

Not Worthy Of A Job: Steve Bates of The People on The Sunday Supplement this morning. "Adel Taarabt didn't even make the 16, 17 yesterday." Professional football expert has no idea how many subs are allowed ffs. Give me a few grand and I'll talk a load of shite for an hour and a half with no factual errors. Why do I put myself through this every week?

Absolutely. Almost as bad as Villa fans, in fact It's alright, we're used to being in the top flight. Fair comment like. Since '88 innit? I can remember you guys being in Div 3 in old money when Charlie Aitken was your main man and that just seemed wrong. Brian Little was one of ours, so even as a kid I kept an eye out. Mind you, the missus has only ever been to one away game, in the Holte End, not with me, so I don't have great associated thoughts. Slut. Track down and sort out those twats with the bedsheets and I'll be cool with the Villa again FFS, spat my tea out there man She's my slut now  They're the best when they make their minds up.

Broken ankle. Those hurt. MotD alleging the mackems were decent about it. I have my doubts. They probably can't differentiate between all the Taylors there are, some of which have scored against them. Fucking turnips.

Got to say Brummie has been right to a quite scary extent so far. Scary for that lot, I mean. Hilarious for me. 9-1 FTM etc.
