Did they say which 5?
-
Well one thing's for sure, the PL may or may not have hated our guts before but they sure as shit do now.
-
From a purely pragmatic point of view Bein hold rights for KSA that are worthless, they'd be stupid not to agree to allowing the Saudis to buy out those rights and make some money off them. We don't seem to be taking the logical route in this takeover though so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
-
It's Newcastle, of course it wasn't just going to be a regular takeover
-
Acuna had a big square head too.
-
Ultimately it is the best solution. Neither Qatar or SA lose face, the PL get another wheelbarrow of cash, Bein get some wedge for something that was previously worthless to them. The only real losers are the people of Saudi Arabia who are gonna be forced to watch us draw 0-0 with Oxford.
-
Well, thinking of the stupidest, least productive thing you could possibly do and then doing it is on-brand for us at least.
-
It would solve a lot of problems if SA just annexed Qatar.
-
Bein have the whole middle east, no way they'd allow SA to be separated out.
-
They need to learn the word 'months'.

Hoy him off a bridge.

Should be ineligible for high profile jobs if your surname sounds like a playground insult.

Not a massive fan of his commentary but in his Covid tweet things he does come across as a pretty decent bloke.

Shame we can't have tobacco advertising. Embassy No.1 would be a great sponsor.

Worked his socks off though. I always liked him because despite being utterly rubbish at football he always tried his best. Genuinely thought Gavilan was going to be a world beater too

You agree with him? Better football under Carver? I can’t remember tbh. I’d say it’s comparable though, but luckily ASM and Almiron have flashes of brilliance. Can't remember lol. Okay then. Oh, I remember us being shite, but I can’t remember what system he had us playing. I’ll go back and watch some of it on YouTube though. No real need to laugh though, it was 5 years ago and I’ve had a child since then We lost 8 in a row. What do you need to remember? You’re extremely results driven aren’t you. I thought the question was about the quality of the football? So we lost 8 in a row and the standard of football was good? 3 wins in 20 games but we played reasonably well? Come on man. I don’t understand why you can’t see beyond the result though. Plenty of teams have played nice football and been relegated (even Norwich play better football than we do). It’s not difficult to grasp the concept that you can play nice football but still lose, but I do accept that you just want us to avoid relegation each season. Probably why you were such a fan of pardew I guess.

Very well put. It will be worth the wait. Probably after the season finishes (2026). fyp

I've not heard nowt, and I can graze my cows on the moor. On a side note I wish they'd get rid of archaic shit like this. Why? It protects Newcastle green lands etc from the scrupulous. Don’t mistake Freeman with Freemasons. Everything we do is charitable and for the good of Newcastle. Hereditary status is an affront. Keep the freemen if you want but award the title to people who actually deserve it, not people who have it because someone else did something. An affront to who? What if there is no one derserving of it? Then no-one gets it. Then who defends the land when everyone dies out? Hold it in trust until there's a worthy recipient of the title. It's not rocket science, there are probably hundreds of people deserving of some honour every year for their work, pick a few and make them freemen. Turn it around, why do you deserve it? Who runs the trust then and agrees it’s function and maintains the charity? My family defended the City walls when it came under attack and the protection of the city was passed down through the family along with the other families who defended the city. Ironically as it stands my family line will end with me unless I have children very late in life and even if I did they may not want to You aren’t forced into it. I nearly didn’t but a combination of wanting to make my late grandad happy and finding out all the good work they do for the city I thought it be good to give something back for the people of Newcastle. There are honorary Freeman for those deserving of the honour as you put it for doing something special for the city. You never answered why you are affronted with what is a charity? Have they done something in their history that has upset you? Right, so you did nothing to deserve it. Not sure how “deserve it” applies to doing some charity work. I don’t see myself as owning anything Nothing against you, like I just take offense at hereditary statuses be they royalty, lords, freemen or binmen. edit: better than rehashing the ethical implications of a Saudi takeover anyway
