Ask Yohan, Pards, Dekka & the Fatman. You can blame Dekka and Ashley for a lot of things but I don't think they have much input on our set piece routines. Not one of our first XI players is good at set-pieces. Pardew said they would look to bring in a set-piece specialist on that radio show.... nothing happened. Cabaye and HBA can strike a ball well enough. Cabs corners have been p*ss poor though but with his range of passing and the way he strikes his direct free kicks you have to think he has the ability to whip in a decent cross from a dead ball. I wonder if he's being told to hit the near post on corners. Why would he be told to hit the front post? There's never anyone there. Maybe Pards is still playing FM12 and is trying to use the corner exploit.

I love Jonas as much as the next man but the problem is he just doesn't offer anything going forward anymore. As a winger (or wide midfielder) he should be part of our front 4 but we're limiting our attacking potential quite badly by playing him rather than someone who could beat a man and get a cross in or create something for the strikers. Playing him in central midfield in a 3 is an option, of course, but if we're going to do that then we have other options who may arguably do a better job in that position.

Be prepared to be the only Newcastle fans in the place you're watching the game. Meh. Aye, i'm used to that now, Liverpool and Manchester bloody United everywhere. Seen a fair few Chelsea shirts in Guangzhou too like which was a bit of a surprise.

Watching this in Hong Kong with my dad. Not hopeful, like, never get anything off these bastards at klanfield.

Wasn't so long ago you could have added violence and racism to that. Perhaps we should just tolerate it because it's a football match. So why do watch football where players and coaches are constantly swearing throughout a football game??? Yeah, I base all my behaviour on what footballers do, they're such great people and fantastic role models.

MASSIVE difference between someone shouting racist abuse or being violent, compared to someone standing up and shouting "close him the f*** down" MASSIVE, If you want to sit in a crowd with no personality, you may as well watch it at home mate, with the lights off by yourself. That's fair enough, i'm not saying don't swear, I swear all the time but be aware of the people around you. If there's an old girl sitting nearby (as KI said) then moderate yourself.

If you're in a public place behave like a civilised person. If your vocabulary is so lacking that you absolutely must swear then I would suggest evening classes. That is utter nonsense. Get to fuck. I've been to plenty of matches and when it's just lads around me i'll let rip with the best of them. If there's people likely to be offended then i'm capable of moderating my language, common decency. Why do the norms and conventions of society go out of the window all of a sudden just because you've decided to attend a sporting event?

Mole has it spot on. The extra man the opposition has in midfield forces Cabaye to drop deeper alongside Tiote creating a huge gap between midfield and attack forcing us to play long direct balls. It limits our passing options drastically, Cabaye can either go horizontal to Tiote, try and push it out wide if he has an option there or hit it long to our non-target man strikers. Going wide from that position is almost as bad as hitting it long anyway as his options will be Jonas who carries very little offensive threat these days or HBA who by this point will be picking up the ball in his own half. When he gets the ball in our half it's a lot to ask of him to carry it all the way to an attacking position or hold it long enough for Cabaye to catch up with play before being crowded out. edit: This is interesting: http://www.zonalmarking.net/2012/08/20/newcastle-2-1-tottenham-pardew-switches-formation-ben-arfa-excels-in-both-systems/ -

Every match recently there's two trends that inevitably happen. Everyone posts 433's and we line up 442 and someone will say 'If we win this we can kick on'. -
Haha, seen this. We're in europe. Safer to the cinema, no joke. Haha. (?????) No f***ing idea. edit, TU's makes more sense so it would be: Haha, seen this. We're in europe. Safc are to the cinema, no joke. Haha.

Yes, you never want to focus too much on the camels in a euro fixture.

Link us up brah http://www.forumclub.be/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2194 Just discovered "Reopen closed tab" to get that. So I thank you. You're very welcome. I'm a big fan of 'Restore previous session' on firefox which I also recently discovered.

I think McClean needs a manager who's going to coach him some new techniques and add a few strings to his bow. At the moment, although his technique is ok, he seems very one dimensional. Whether or not Artie is that manager I don't know......

That's a bit of a blow if true. I thought Barney and Tinky-Winky could have done a job for us in midfield.

We should start Campbell tonight now. He's been blessed by the chosen one, he'll score at least six.

Loving being back in europe, not loving the three am kick off times so much.

thanks. You still get an 8 match ban no matter what RAWK_Toonfan says.
